Pink trench Coat + brown combat boots

        My pink trench coat adds a pop of color to my all-red outfit thereby creating a sort of color block; deep saturated colors are trending, and Spring is here so, it's time to get out the colors. This post though is mainly about my combat boots. This brown Guess combat boots was thrifted a few years ago when I wanted to test out the combat boots trend; previously styled here. 

I liked the look and comfort of the boots so much that I went ahead and purchased a new pair from DSW blogged about here also styled in my previous post.here. Combat boot is a trend that will be around for a while and even if it is no longer a trend, it's the right kind of boots to have in a winter boots collection. All Red Outfit: Red Wool Coat

       Red is the color for the month of February, symbolizing "Heart health month" and also one of  the celebratory colors of love for those who celebrate Valentine and of course, February is also Black History Month. Red is low key one of my favorite colors and my favorite way of styling it is by going the way of monochrome. 

I wore this outfit to Church last Sunday; a red knit dress, red wool coat and reddish brown leather boots to add texture to the outfit. I purchased the red wool coat from Metrostyle years ago and I currently love this olive color lapel coat here. The red sweater bag is an old thrifted piece. Spring Wish List

 

        My spring wish list has a somewhat green color scheme this season and that is because I have been drawn to the color green lately and also puffy sleeves which is a big trend this year by the way. The most expensive item on my list is this beautiful Bottega Veneta lido sandals but I'm not going to drop $1,500 on a trendy sandal. Thankfully, brands like Vince Camuto have the faux leather options at very affordable price points.

       Winter calls for warm cozy coats and even better when the coat is also stylish too. This long gingham coat is that trusted piece for me. I decided to style it with a grey knit dress and combat boots for this post. The weather is starting to warm up and though it was sunny in this post, it was still quite cold. 

However, it's almost time to put away the winter coats but this piece would definitely be the last to be stowed away. And I have said it on here so many times, it was thrifted for less than $50 at a consignment store. How do you beat that? Hurray to sustainable fashion. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Tweed Blazer + pleated Skirt

 

       Blue and gray has become a favorite color pairing of mine lately. I wore this tweed blazer and pleated skirt to church recently. I paired the outfit with a blue woven pouch bag and cinched my waist with an embellished belt; black clog sole boots completed the look. It was just the right outfit to brighten up a cloudy day.        The quote; "Just because it's hard doesn't mean it is impossible" is what I have chosen to adapt from now onwards and I acted on that positive energy and got this braids done all by myself. I have made unsuccessful attempts to braid my hair before and I'm really glad they came out okay this time around. Yay! to more possibilities 😀

Monochrome Style: Brown and Nude Knits

 

       One of my goals this year when it comes to fashion is to wear more colors. I realized that monochrome styling is what comes to me naturally whenever I'm putting outfits together and I want to get out of my comfort zone from now onwards. Also, I want to find more joy in blogging again. For the past two years, I have been using this blog as a sort of fashion Journal or Diary only to document my outfits. 

 I set the blog on private because I just could not get myself to deactivate or delete the blog. (Probably, I just like writing for myself) Now, I am thinking I need to set it back to public viewing at least for my upcoming ten years blogging Anniversary. I'll think seriously of what to do with the blog afterwards.

Casual Style: Vest + Denim

     Happy new year! It's so surreal that we are already in 2022 but I am excited, and I hope you are too. The farther we get away from the year 2020, the better it is for everyone. We had a very beautiful weather in the month of December and there was a day that the weather was so beautiful, December 2nd actually and it seemed like it was summer! Can you believe it! 

I styled my sweater vest over dark denim pants for a casual look and completed the look with faux fur slides. It was a comfy look just to lounge at home and to think happy thoughts and good wishes. I hope the new year is going great for you so far. Thanks so much for reading! 😀

Happy New Year! 2022

 

       Happy new year my friends! I wish us all a beautiful and prosperous new year, 2022. We all deserve to have the best of everything this year. Although we were not able to have big parties and celebrate like we used to, I still give God thanks for good health and for great family and friends. This was one of my holiday looks; a simple sequin skirt that i have won every holiday season for the last couple of years. and this sequin striped sweater; all oldies from my closet. My platforms heels are a new addition though; a gift to myself from Asos. What do you think of the resurgence of platform shoes this season? Again, happy new year to you and yours. Holiday Outfit Inspiration: Mustard color sweater + Sequin Pants

 

      

        A  holiday outfit can be styled without incorporating the traditional holiday colors. As we all know, red and green are traditional Christmas colors in addition to black and silver when it comes to styling sequins and other embellished and beaded outfits. In the recent years however, holiday outfits are now any color you want them to be and sequin pieces can be purchased in almost every color nowadays. I styled this gold sequin wide legged trousers from Lulus with a mustard color sweater to create a non traditional holiday look.
