Trench Coat and Sandals

Happy Friday friends. This is another throw back or flashback look from my camera archives. I wore this outfit last Fall and it was not cold at the time so I could wear a pair of sandals with my trench coat. All the pictures  are random and were taken when I was not looking hence the robot-like poses..😄 I remember I took my kids out and they were running excitedly around me and I was trying to get their attention and keep everyone together.

This outfit consists of very basic wardrobe essentials; a white tee, denim, off the shoulder bag and a trench coat which you can swap for a blazer. When in doubt of what to wear somewhere, throw all these pieces together and you are good to go. A good idea is to have two blazers; one in a neutral color and another in a beautiful shade that you love for a great pop of color. And if you do not like blazers, you can do kimonos or sleeveless vests. Have a great weekend everyone.

One more way to wear Plaid..

Happy Thursday Friends; today's outfit is a throwback look I wore in the summer and my inspiration for this look was based on this outfit in this blog post HERE. I know it is Fall and I'm supposed to be posting Fall fashion outfits on here but this is a therapeutic post for me because this is what I actually want to wear right now; distressed denim, pumps, sunglasses, sunnies...Rather, I'm clothed in layers in sub temperature and snowy weather and just dreaming of being on the sunny beach...Lol

Not to digress from the matter at hand, I wanted to show with this post that there is another way we can wear plaid aside from wearing them in clothing like shirts, blouses, pants and scarves. Yes, I'm talking about my plaid pumps. It's such a fun print to add to your shoe collection and it adds a fun vibe to a casual look. One way to pull off this look in a cold Fall day is by adding a long trench coat or a regular coat in a darker color (shade) to the look and/or wearing a turtle neck sweater with shorter sleeves underneath the off-the-shoulder top and pulling the top lower a little bit. What do you think of plaid pumps?

A Pop of Red

This is a very quick post here; I'm sharing this look I wore over the the summer on the blog today just because it has touches of red. If I live in the tropics or somewhere very warm, I would be wearing this outfit again during the upcoming holidays. I got the graphic tee from Wear your Praise; an online store that specializes in the sale of Christian apparel and I do love inspirational graphic tees because they can be dressed up or down. I paired the tee with this cut-out hem midi skirt I purchased from Ann Taylor and completed the look with red fringe sandals. The touch of red in the graphics and the red sandals helped to pull the whole look together.

If you need some inspiration on how to style graphic tees for work and for play, you can check out this post HERE and HERE. This is the season to wear red and you can check out this beautiful tee HERE and get a 10% discount by using the code; BEAUTYOJO

Red Ruffles

Hi Friends; happy Tuesday. It's the season of red dresses! The holiday season is a good time to add that beautiful red dress to your closet for that special holiday party or event. This ruffle sleeveless dress is an old piece from my closet. I purchased it from Burlington coat factory about five years ago and I got really excited when I tried it on this past summer and found out that it still fits. I paired it with floral sling back sandals and with little or no jewelry. This dress has very dramatic sleeves so, there is no need for a necklace. However, I styled it with loads of accessories the last time I wore it years ago; necklace, belt, bracelet...and you can view the post HERE

Ruffles have been trending since summer and you can find them on dresses, tops and even skirts. It's such a beautiful, feminine detail to have on an outfit. If you are looking for a similar dress, check out this beautiful piece  HERE.

Good morning Friends; grab a cup of coffee if you haven't done so already because we have some special "ladies chit-chat" on the blog today. It is Monday and usually we discuss Work wear on the blog but  because it is the season of giving and all things beautiful;  we are going to discuss Jewelry. Just sincerely here (Moi) tries to showcase various forms of fashion on this blog but I must say that much attention has not been paid to this essential part of our wardrobe and I am making things right by introducing you to this cool Jewelry brand I just discovered; AUrateJewelry

What to wear to Church on a snowy Sunday

It's a snowy Sunday in my neck of the woods and a snowy day calls for chic and comfy outfit when you are stepping out of the house to go to Church. Since Christmas is on Sunday this year, we'll definitely be going to Church all dressed up and if there is snow on the ground as it is today in my city, then much thought should be put on our accessories; boots, faux fur scarfs, furry coats... The fur just adds so much elegance and chicness to an outfit.

An alternative to draping ourselves in big warm comfy coat is using furry shawls, snoods and scarves and below is some outfit inspiration for a snowy Sunday and some furry chic accessories.

Shopping Saturday: Pleated Skirts

Velvet / Metallic Pleated Skirt

Happy Saturday Friends. The weekend is for chores and shopping and like a never ending circle, trends keep bouncing off the runways into the stores and the shopping goes on and on. If you are down with keeping up with the ever revolving trends, then you might have seen or already purchased a velvet or metallic pleated skirt. Yes, it is not trendy just to have a pleated midi skirt right now! Haha!! The velvet / metallic pleated skirt has taken over.

As a disclaimer, this blog here or my fashion blog posts are not meant to turn you into a shopaholic but rather, it is an avenue for us savvy stylish Moms and ladies to view and discuss fashion for our entertainment and curiosity and maybe, we can do a little shopping along the way too. Cheers to that!!..Lol
