Busy

It was a breezy, sunny day last week and there was a little chill in the air. It was just the right temperature for taking a walk or walking a dog only if I owned one...:) I stared through the window at the beautiful colors of fall displayed in the trees and the shrubs and I thought "how busy, yet beautiful." There were greens, browns, orange, wine; each color competing to be the finest and together all turning out to make this beautiful fall scenery. I took a cue and layered myself in a busy outfit; a black and white assemble accessorized with a colorful scarf I recently got from Wal-Mart. Over my white graphic tee, I threw on a grid jacket; a mixture of trends. It was indeed a busy outfit but it put a smile on my face.

Fashion aside; at this time of the year, everyone is so busy caught in the festivities and holidays and shopping that there is hardly any time spent on the reflection of what is most important. Halloween just ended and the stores are already stocking up for thanksgiving and black Friday sales, Then Christmas and New-year are just around the corner. The Christmas list is getting longer and longer and the check-out lines at the stores are getting a little crazy as each day comes.

I am taking some time to reflect and slowing things down a bit. For me, this season is not just all about getting the best deals or making that perfect dinner or planning the perfect party. It's about appreciation for God, life, family and friends and taking some time out of  my busy schedule to tell someone how much they are loved and appreciated.

Accessorize Me!

Dress: Chadwicks
Bag: Aldo
Scarf: T. J. Maxx
Bracelets: Target
Shoes: Colin Stuart via Victoriassecret

These are some of the pictures I took during the summer and I apologize for the poor quality. I lost my flash drive soon after then found it about a week ago. I am hoping to get a better camera soon.
Accessorizing does make a difference in the  styling of outfits. I used to wear this lime green dress with just black accessories; a black pair of shoes and a black purse. This time I decided to wear my pointed toe cobalt blue shoes and I tied a white and green scarf on  my purse; definitely made the dress more interesting.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed and wonderful Sunday.

Summer Flashback

I attended a friend's wedding during the summer and really had a great time. This wine colored dress was purchased from Venus online store a couple of years ago. The warm color and high quality fabric makes it one of my favorite pieces. Some people get scared and judgmental when they see a pregnant woman in heels but  I'm glad I got none of those funny stares at my friend's wedding. My hubby drove and all I did when I got there was sit down and have a good time; I never danced though...:) I only got up to take a couple of pictures and also made all those endless trips to the bathroom...:) I'm in my last trimester right now and really feeling great. God is good to me and I never fail to thank him for his love and goodness. With thanksgiving just around the corner, let's pause to count all those endless blessings in our lives.

I loved the purple and green décor

Boots in...

So, I got my new flat soled boots! Most of the boots I had in my closet before this new arrival were high heeled boots and the flat soled boots were basically worn out and out of shape...:) As usual, the first place I turned to when I started searching for the perfect pair was Victoriassecret.com. Their shoes are pretty affordable, of good quality and trendy. After browsing through the site, I picked my favorite pairs under $100.00 and blogged about them here. My first choice however, was the Report Maverick Riding boot which was a little over a $100. My intention was not to spend any amount over a $100 and when I got a coupon in the mail for $10 off plus the free shipping that was advertised on the site, I decided that it was time to make the purchase. And now I got my cute riding boots. My baby is due this winter and this will definitely go on several outings to all those clinical visits and post-natal check-ups. I'm glad and excited to be a mom for the fourth time and I want to remain stylish while at it...:)

Happy November

Blazer: Old
Tee: Target
Pants and clutch: T.J. Maxx (old)
Shoes: Zigisoho via DSW

Happy November everyone. It's amazing how fast the months are flying by. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and soon we'll be talking about Christmas. Now this gets me excited because each day gets me closer to meeting our little angel. Our baby is due this Christmas and that is the best Christmas gift ever. Everyone is so excited.

I am wearing pieces that have been in the closet for a while now and as you can see, my love for animal prints has not ended. I saw this pants at T. J. Maxx last summer and could not pass them up. Years ago, I would have laughed at the idea of owning a pair of animal prints pants but now that blogging has made me more adventurous with my wardrobe, I have no problem wearing them.

I wish you all the best this month and I sincerely extend my thanks to all that stopped by to wish me a happy birthday in my last post. I still have a few pictures left over from the summer and I would post them soon. Also, I'm trying to put a post together where I can unveil my natural look; no wigs and no make-up...:) I am itching to document that look on the blog. Thanks so much for visiting and have a great weekend.

Yay!! It's my birthday!!! I'm so thankful and grateful to God for yet another year added unto my life. I thank Family and dear friends who have always been there for me and I appreciate my blog and all the friends I have made through blogging more than ever. This is the one place where I have been rambling about my passion for my faith, my family and fashion. I am growing everyday and becoming a better and more fulfilled person and I know that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. Thanks so much for your visit, comments and support to this blog.

Another sheer top...

Bracelets: Neighborhood boutique

It was such a cloudy day today with sprinkles of rain on and off but the temp was in the forties so, it was not too bad. I just got done with my chores and remembered that I had to blog before going to bed. So, this is birthday/summer outfit count down to "one." Yeah, you guessed right. The count down ends at zero tomorrow which happens to be my birthday! I'm beyond excited.

We don't have anything planned and I know there is not going to be any surprise party for me. After successfully ruining a couple of surprise parties over the years, my friends and hubby have given up on that. The last surprise party I had was on my birthday a couple of years ago in my final year of college. I had a major paper and presentation to give on the day after my birthday and not having any knowledge of the huge academic workload, my hubby and friends planned a surprise birthday party for me. I rushed home from work with the intention of doing some last minute revisions on my paper/presentation only to be greeted by excited friends and family and a grooving party. I was surprised alright but I could not concentrate on having fun at the party and everyone saw and got to know how distressed I was. The presentation was not too bad at the end of the day but I always knew I would have done better if I just did some extra work the day before...:)

So, it is Halloween tomorrow and it is also my birthday. The only thing I'm sure about is that hubby has a big bag of candy ready for the kids when they come knocking on the door. We usually do not dress up our kids for Halloween or allow them to go trick-a-treating but their friends and other kids who show up at the house do get some treats.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your lovely comments. I would stop over at your blog soon to find out what is cooking...:) Now, I got to go to bed...
