Hello Yellow..

It's a rainy day over here and the cold is starting to set in. I was taking a look through my phone a few days ago and found these pictures I took a few weeks ago on my way out to a wedding. Lace dresses are my favorite clothing to wear to events like weddings, birthday parties and baby showers and I own them in so many colors already.

I scored this yellow off-the-shoulder dress at a discounted price of $20 in a recent Topshop clearance sale online. The color is a bit loud but it was the best outfit to wear on a cloudy day because it was drizzling and cloudy all day for the event. My iPhone pictures did not do any justice to this dress and probably that is a good thing; I do not want you to be blinded by so much color/brightness....Lol. Do you own any lace dresses? What are your thoughts on them?

Walk in green

Hi Friends; happy Monday; I hope the day is going great so far. It is cold and windy over here in my neck of the woods. it was very warm and sunny yesterday and the weather was just warm and unbelievably beautiful but we woke up this morning to a huge surprise. I might not like the cold associated with the beautiful weather but I definitely love fall fashion. This cape-like trench has been in my closet since last year and I decided to get it out today. So here goes my first official jacket or outerwear for the season.

I scored this Calvin Klein trench coat from TJ Maxx at the end of season sale last year and I tell you the end of spring and beginning of summer is the best time to buy outerwear because there are lots of end of season's sales.

Holy Chic on Denim Midi

This graphic tee is one of my favorites because I fell in love with it the first time I saw it online. I like how catchy and bold the "graphics" is and I used it in my Polyvore collages here and here. Some say it is a play on words and that it refers to a bad phrase "Holy $h_t!"but to me it is just the literal and simple meaning of the phrase. However, I am not saying I am super holy or perfect but I am getting there...hehehe..:-).

I paired the tee with this denim midi skirt I purchased recently  from T. J Maxx and it must have sold out quickly because I got this from the sales rack and it was the only one available (in that location probably). There is another option on Chicwish here. This outfit was meant to combat the heat we experienced in Minneapolis today and I am planning on dealing with the summer heat this year in more graphic muscle tees. I am currently eyeing this cute piece here and here. This tee reminds me that I am still working on my "holiness;" (spirituality). christianity is a continuous process and so long as we stay on the course everything will be okay. Love also is the greatest ingredient for the Christian life because Jesus said the greatest gift of all is love.

1 Corinthians 13 New Living Translation (NLT)

Love Is the Greatest

13 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it;[a] but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages[b] and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! 10 But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless.
11 When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. 12 Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.[c] All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

When it's really Summer

When it is summer; hot, sunny and humid, there is no need to spend minutes peering into the closet thinking of what to wear; a floral piece with a light breezy top is the way to go. This is why I stocked up on this light breezy utility blouse last year. I think I got them in four or five colors and the great thing about this blouse is that they can go from office to play and they can layer nicely in the winter time. I could not resist this Chicwish floral skirt when I first saw it online and I must say it is one of my best purchase in recent times.

How is everyone doing? I hope we are all set to enjoy the summer? It is all about the mindset and keeping faith. I believe that I am going to have a great summer and I trust God enough to know that it will happen the way I want it to.

Do you have a great floral summer piece yet? I wish you all of God's blessings in the new week. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

in all your ways submit to him,
