Summer Essentials: Wish List

        We are gradually getting to the end of the summer and the summer heat has been intense this year. I have been enjoying the summer by rotating summer fashion essentials from my closet; shorts, cotton tops and lots of button up shirts. Every season, I do a wardrobe/closet edit and fill any void I might have by sourcing affordable pieces. My wish list serves as a shopping guide for me each season.

          Hello! 😀 I hope you are enjoying the summer so far. It's been so hard to maintain some consistency on the blog. Actually, I have some posts saved on my draft folder that I just have not had time to edit and publish. I finally got done on this post that had been sitting in my folder for a while and here it is. I am wearing this simple off the shoulder dress that I purchased from Asos a while back.

A pop of color with a wool coat

       Long wool coats have been having a moment since last fall and the impact it makes in styling correlates with the length rather than the color or style of the coat. In other words, the maxi (length) wool coat or the floor length coats, add a more dramatic effect to a cold weather outfit. However, to make a big impact with your outfit this spring and to release some feel-good dopamine to help with the cold weather, consider adding a pop of color with your winter/spring coat. Let the length and color of the coat come together to create a stylish and chic outfit.

Christmas Outfit Inspiration: Burgundy color Outfit

 

       I have been blogging about work wear a lot on the blog lately or let's say in my previous posts. This is another recycled post from my archives where I am sharing an outfit inspiration on what to wear to work this holiday season. As usual, the monochrome formula works for me every time. Christmas Outfit Inspiration: Plaid skirt + Sequin Heels

       A plaid skirt can only be worn in the fall and winter season in my opinion especially if you are of a certain age. I put this look together as a work outfit for the holidays in a previous Blog Post here. It is a look that is appropriate if you work in a corporate setting. I paired this blue and red plaid skirt with a blue blazer and completed the outfit with a brown tote bag, blue sequin heels and a long blue coat.

Long Coat + grey monochrome look

       If you are a regular reader of this blog, you have seen this look before along with the looks in my previous posts. Yes, I am currently recycling my old posts. It is almost the end of the year, and I suddenly remembered that I did not update my blog as much this year. The weather has been cold and cloudy as usual in Minneapolis and I have not been able to take new pictures outdoors hence the old pictures. That is okay though because I usually publish "throw-back blog posts" on my blog at the end of the year anyways.

Grey tones for Fall and Winter

We cannot talk about Fall and Winter style without talking about the color grey. There is something about this shade of color that make the cold season style/fashion very appealing. Grey color can be paired with burgundy, white, black, red, blue and yellow or orange; basically, earth tones. It's one of my favorite colors to wear in the winter season along with burgundy which is also known as wine color, cherry or Bordeaux color.

       The saying that fashion (trend) is cyclical is so true this season. I have always known that leopard print fashion was going to be back in fashion (after it was a huge trend years ago) but I never expected it to be back with a bang. When you go to shopping instore or online, you are going to see leopard print pieces and accessories everywhere. These pictures are actually a throwback from the Blog post I published years ago HERE. It was a look I styled in 2019. 

Burgundy color monochrome work outfit

       Burgundy is a color that has been trending for a while now and it happens to be one of my favorite colors that I have enjoyed styling for years especially in the fall and winter months. For this look, I am wearing a monochrome look; a long-sleeved burgundy sweater over burgundy color corduroy pants that I got from LOFT a while ago. I threw my boucle, tweed-like coat over the outfit and completed the look with black accessories.
