Behind the scenes

Hi friends, I have been off from Blogsville for a few days because I have been super busy behind the scenes. I have been trying to create a perfect balance in my schedule in between work, family and other beautiful things that make life great. I hope everyone is doing good and having fun so far. Hopefully, I would have some more time soon to resume my normal blogging schedule.

This outfit is what I wore today to run errands around town and it is the outfit inspired by the Polyvore Collage I blogged about here sans the shorts. The shirt is pretty old and I have had it for years but I just can't let go of it yet because it's so comfy. I love the soft linen fabric. I'm currently craving this long sleeved version on J. Crew here. I swopped the shorts for some denim pants because fall is upon us already and it was a little chilly today. My new trench coat from Old navy came in handy too.

Now, back to business; while I was reading the e-mail alert about this giveaway, I was wondering why I never did any post on fragrances on this blog before now. It is not that I don't know what fragrances or perfumes are...hello!!!! **arms in the air...:-)**I just neglected to do it. Well, I'm glad I got to it now and I'll be heading over to my local Victoria's secret store to stock up on my mini collection.

These selections here are my favorites and you all know by now that I love me some Victoria's Secret...:-). I got addicted to this store over ten years ago mostly because it is a one-stop store and you can shop for anything on the go; underwear, clothes, shoes, accessories, sportswear, fragrances, lotion...talk about a brand. It is a real convenient store for any busy lady and their fall and winter clothing are just superb.

Remember this verse from the bible?

                                                                               John 12: 3
Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

If Jesus shows up in your room tonight, would you be ready and willing to acknowledge him? Would you worship and reverence him with your heart and soul? Are you willing to let him in your heart today? Taste and see that my God is good!!!!

Sneaky

Hi All, I hope we've had a wonderful week and are ready for the weekend. This is a sneak peek of an outfit I wore recently; a green palm prints skirt and white blouse. Palm prints came on the scene as everyday prints some months ago and since I always thought it was the kind of prints reserved for the beach, I had some reservation about it until I saw this skirt on sale at J. C. Penny. Of course, I love the color green and that attracted me to the skirt and it had some sequin embellishment too.

Thanks so much for stopping by; I wish you a lovely and blessed weekend.

Print before falling

Hi Friends, I wasn't going to let the entire summer roll away into fall without wearing my beloved prints; leopard prints. The last time I wore this dress I was in my last trimester and you can see the post here. I decided to wear a sheer blouse over it this time and get a little print fix before fall comes upon me. Our evenings and mornings are already chilly here in MN.

My Coral Midi Skirt

Hi friends, I hope we all had a great weekend. We're having very beautiful weather today although it was cold the last couple of days. I decided to wear my coral color midi skirt that I purchased last summer today.  I have been loving the color "coral" lately and white is always my first color to pair coral with. It was also my first time today of wearing this pink and black statement necklace I purchased recently from Walmart for 10 dollars. I got to know of this super affordable necklace from other blogs  and I decided to check them out when I went in there for my kids' school supplies. They were of such high quality and there were so many beautiful colors and designs that I left the store with a couple. I'll do a post on my jewelry haul next time.

My Closet Update

Pointed toe Pumps

Hi everyone; so, I'm still enjoying my mini vacation; spending time with my lovely family and making sure the kids are settled in nicely for the new school year. My Labor day holiday was quiet; I spent the day indoors watching movies with the family then dashed out of the house in the evening to get last minute supplies for the kids but I did not leave myself out...:-). I took advantage of all the savings and discounts I could find online and in-store and stocked up on my favorite things; shoes.
I would say that I gave my closet a "Shoe Makeover." Or let's just say I got bitten by the pointed toe shoes bug.

Prior to now, I only owned mostly round toe or almond toe pumps and never really cared for pointed toe shoes that much; except for a few pairs I purchased either because they were on sale and too good to pass or I liked the color or design so much that I could not resist. Also, I feel like my feet are wide and my toes so huge that pointed toe pumps were somewhat uncomfortable. Well, that was my feeling years and months back. Fast forward to today and I have gradually replaced every round toe shoe in my closet with a pointed toe pair.

There has been a lot of hype about pointed toe shoes or court shoes (as some people call them) of recent and all those platform shoes that were trending a few seasons ago are now backstage or deep down in the closet. I have read blogs where there were ongoing debates about pointed toe shoes versus platform shoes. Some ladies are of the opinion that pointed toe shoes are classy and chic and should be the only shoes that trendy or classy women should wear. In my opinion, "it is the woman that makes the shoe classic and chic. When you are confident in whatever you wear; whether it is pointed toe shoes or round toe shoes, you will be classy and chic." Platform or pointed toe shoes are trends that come and go and as we all know, fashion trends keep recycling over the years. You might be thinking; "why did I bother updating my shoe closet then?"

And my answer is this; "I love having fun with fashion." And that is the premise behind this little blog of mine; to document every trend I'm willing to experiment with. So, I just had to do a shoe closet makeover and as for my toes and feet being too wide, well, they just have to adjust for now..:-). However, I'll still wear my round toe pumps whenever I want because no one is going to sue me if I do...:-).

Well, in order to find a happy medium and make everyone happy, hubby included, I did not purchase any expensive item or make any major splurge and it's been a gradual process for months. 80% of my shoes are from Victorias secret anyway and their shoes are pretty affordable with a couple of louboutins thrown in here and there. I also bought some pairs on sale at Charlotte Russe recently after I discovered  that they sell quality items too. There are other pointed toe shoes I have owned for years that are not shown here but I would certainly be wearing them all now.

Now, I really like this calf prints pair here from VS and I loved the splurge here that was on my Summer List and this pair here but I couldn't bring myself to splurge. You know, it's all about finding a happy medium and making everyone happy.
I trust everyone is happy and well?

Selfie and Second Quarter Summary

My First Blog Selfie...

Hi, friends, can you believe it is the end of August?..:-). Now we are unto the final quarter of the year.  **Woot! Woot!!** I thank God for everything so far and I thank him for the days and months yet to come. It is time for my second quarter blog summary; a feature I introduced to the blog a few months ago. In my summary, I'll give behind the scene gist of my life as a blogger if there is anything new to share and I'll also give a summary of blog outfit and posts.

Nothing much happened in the last few months; my baby is eight months old and growing stronger and healthier each day. My second kid and first daughter starts kindergarten in a few days and I'm really excited about that. I took a mini vacation from work and would be home the whole of next week to spend time with the kids on their first week of school. Another new thing right now is me practicing how to take selfies...:-). You see, I think I'm always the last one to embrace any trend of any kind. I signed up for instagram a couple of months ago but quickly lost interest in it and have not uploaded any pics since. As for selfies though, I think I would do them once in a while.

I took these selfie pics in my bathroom and started out with a make-up free face as seen in the pic below then I put on some make-up. I'm wearing a distressed graphic muscle tee I purchased from forever21 a few months ago and blogged about here and here. This sleeveless tee is all sold out now but they've been replaced by the cap sleeve version. I love graphic tees a lot and I like how you can use them to make a statement or share a view. I love God and I'm passionate about my Christianity and I always look for every opportunity to talk about him. So, this tee is right up my alley.

My wardrobe is getting versatile by the day and I've included lots of pieces and accessories to it over the last couple of months and I put careful thought to how I put my outfits together now compared to before. You can click on the numbers below to check on each posting as I have numbered them clockwise.

What about you, do you like graphic tees or selfies?
