Orange Overdose

A very, very rainy day in the twin cities today and to tell you the truth, I hate it when it rains on sundays. It can be so discouraging because the temptation to put on some warm socks and snuggle under the blankets as opposed to going to church is very great. The temptation was great this morning too and the family and I ended up late for church but I am glad we made the attempt rain or not.

This orange vest I ordered a few weeks ago, arrived a couple of days ago so I decided to wear it today. I like the structured cut and the great orange color; this is such a versatile piece for any closet. When my shopping freeze is over, I hope they'll still have this cute color block one in my size. My pictures are not great as usual and I apologize. My son snapped the pictures with my phone and being a cloudy day, they did not come out as nice. I have been putting off getting a new camera because I did not want to resort to using the tripod again; (it can be a hassle sometimes) and I do not plan to entrust my young son with a DSLR just yet and hubby is always busy. However, I'll just go on and get it because I know blogging is here to stay. I'm too much of an addict now to quit...:-).

What about you friends; do you sometimes feel like you are addicted to blogging? I know I am and I'm not looking for no suppressant or antidote to blogging..hehehe...:-). I pray that God gives me the grace to be addicted to his word too. I want to be able to read and study my bible everyday because God's word is a powerful tool for every day living.

Stripes, white, black and color at my local Target.

Here

**Oooohhh Lala** I did say I was on a shopping freeze in my last post right?  Well, eeemmm **clears throat**....:-). I took a trip to my local Target store yesterday to buy some toiletries and then wandered around a little bit because the store was looking so colorful and pretty. Then, I spotted some cute pieces on the clearance racks here and there and before I knew it, some items were in my cart. There were lots of cute pencil skirts, stripped tops and colorful summer blouses and tops every where; a lady could not resist...:-). I picked up some cute bathing suits for the kids too because they needed some new ones. The summer is almost over but we intend to enjoy as much sun and water as we can before the cold weather comes upon us.

Now, I'm going to make a few more trips to Target for the school supplies because those "Back to School sales" are on already..**wish me luck..:-)..** I might just talk hubby into doing the back to school shopping this time so a lady does not have to be tempted yet again. I hope you all are doing great? I'm looking forward to posting some of the recent items I got from Target on the blog. I love you for stopping by.

Mint Pleats

Happy Monday Friends and happy new month; it's so surreal that we are in August already. I thank God for his protection and mercies. I had a wonderful time in church on Sunday. We spent over an hour just praying and worshipping. Prayers are such important elements in the life of a christian. I took these pictures right after church and that explains why I was looking a little tired.

I love this mint color skirt for summer because of the light fabric and the lovely mint color. I purchased it a couple of summers ago from Victorias Secret and talking about Victorias Secret, I wonder what is going on over at that website these days; it seems like they have closed shop in regard to summer clothing and shoes. All they have for sale now are just winter clothing and shoes all year round. It used to be one of my favorite stores to shop online.

I'm on a temporary shopping freeze friends...:-). Yep! I do not know how long it is going to be for but I know I just have to do it. From now on, I am going to start doing my best with styling all the pieces I have in my closet.

Stripes and white

Happy Friday friends; I hope the weather is great wherever you are. My summer is going great so far. I went on a playdate with my friends today to a park that has a splash pad for the kids to play and splash around in and it was so much fun. I threw on this ensemble last minute cos I did not have enough time to sort my laundry. My initial plan was to put on a pair of denim bermuda shorts but my shorts was MIA and after scrambling through a pile of laundry I opted for this white capris. White clothing might not be the best when there is a combination of kids and water parks but hey! it's summer...:-).

As always, I keep a pair of flats in the car and today, I switched into a pair of flip-flops when I got to the water park. I never really liked Birkenstocks but I'm starting to change my mind about it; It's a very cute alternative to wearing flip-flops. I'm loving this animal print option here. I shared a couple of pics from the outing on my instagram and my handle is; @beautyojo.

I have an event to attend tomorrow; a friend of mine is organizing a party for friends and I haven't even picked an outfit yet. How come ladies have closets full of clothes and yet face the dilemma of picking an outfit to wear to an event? I'm still trying to figure that out but I also know that having a larger closet where my clothes can be all organized and laid out would help out a lot. What are your tricks to getting ready for events?

Purple and High-Low

Hi Friends, I hope your week is going great so far. It has been very hot over here in the last few days and it was so scorching hot last sunday that I had no choice but to wear this sleeveless, sheer dress to church. The dress is a simple high-low dress that I purchased from Forever 21 a long time back. The pics were taken with my cell phone as usual and it did not really capture the dress the way it should. I made a trip to the fabric store and bought some yards of faux fur fabric on saturday and I made this clutch in less than an hour. The floral pumps are from heels.com. We had a barbecue at the lake-aide right after the service and it was just a fun weekend.

I'll be back again soon to chat more. Enjoy the rest of the week.

No Snooze, no booze, just shoes...

Hi Friends, it's been a while; I have been super busy. First of all, I want to say a quick thank-you to everyone that commented on my last post. Every thought and comment about my midi skirt reminded me of how badly I need to go on a real vacation and London is certainly on the top of my list.
My nephews and nieces are still around on vacation so I have been busy having fun with family...:-).

Wait a minute...Is there really a situation like that? I mean, can the word "busy" be used to qualify the action of having fun? Not really, I would say; I think busy is mostly associated with "Work."
Anyway, I am not here to give English lessons...:-). I am quite sure you already know what this post is all about.

Well, as you can see from the pictures, there is a new friend in my shoe closet...:-). I have been eyeing all those fun and whimsical Sophia Webster shoes for a while but was not willing to make the splurge and when I learnt of the recent sales at Saks & Fifth, I indulged. This polka dots d'orsay pumps were on sale for half the price and the sale is still on currently. I got home from work today and met my package waiting for me at the door. This pair totally wiped away all the monday blues.

HERE

So, my advice for the rest of the week, is this...:-). (You know it is always "God First" right?) then...

  • "no snooze"...when the alarm comes on, get up and get going.
  • "no booze"...reserve the parties for the weekend
  • if you must indulge a little as a lady, let it be on shoes...:-).

Let's go to London

Happy Sunday Friends; yes, I have been bitten by the midi skirt bug. I am so happy for this trend, in previous years, wearing midi skirts was regarded matronly and highly conservative and young ladies never wanted to be seen in them but look at us now, we are all wearing midi skirts like it's nothing. Midi skirts are so youthful and fun.

This outfit is what I wore to church today. I got this skirt from Chicwish recently and I really like the fun art printed on it; it's a pic of the red London double decker buses and telephone booths; again so, so fun. I blogged about it in this outfit collage here. This skirt sold out quickly on the Chicwish website but there are other beautiful midi skirts and pieces on the site. I just love Chicwish for reintroducing fashion for women. I forgot to put on my sunglasses today and squinted continuously while I was outdoors. Did they say squinting and frowning causes early wrinkles or was it laughing and smiling a lot that causes it or all of the above? Well, I don't care much about that...hehehe...:-). but I'll definitely remember to have my sunglasses on hand next time.

This is just a quick post to say hi. I'll be back again to talk some more sometime soon; all of God's blessings in the new week friends.
