Shoes In - Mojo Moxy Bowie

Happy St. Patrick's  day everyone! I hope you are having or had fun with this holiday if you do celebrate it depending on where you live. I wore a green color outfit to work today but was unable to take outfit pictures so I decided to shoot some pictures when I got home showing the latest addition to my shoe closet and they are green too...:-). So, a lot of us know that bow tie ankle strap pumps made popular by the famous Amina Jillil have been trending for a long time now. At less than $300.00, the bow tie pumps were a steal and then, Just Fab released a cheaper design of the same shoes and there was a lot of buzz about these bow tie pumps on so many fashion blogs.

Just Sincerely over here knew about all the buzz but decided to ignore it because, seriously, some trends do get over done and then I heard the pumps were very uncomfortable too. Well, fast forward to months later, when the trend is almost done and I have a pair of bow tie pumps in my shoe closet and it was totally unplanned. I'll tell you the story...

I had my bi-annual dental check-up a few weeks ago and I left work an hour and a half early to make up for the traffic but it happened that I got to the dental clinic too early and instead of just sitting in the clinic lounge to read magazines, watch t.v. or get a free massage in the high tech massage couch, I decided to go spend an hour at the mall which was just a block away and headed straight for the closest shoe store; DSW...smh.

I walked around the store enjoying all the beauties on the shelves and then something caught my eye in the corner and I froze! These shoes were right there in my face!! I never knew Mojo Moxy had a bow tie pump in their collection since I'm a bit used to the brand. Well, it happens that they were on sale too and to cut a long story short; I finally got bow tie pumps...:-). I love that they are green color too because I really do love green shoes and it's even better when they are suede. The Mojo Moxy version are not as high as the other brands which is a "con" for me because in my shoe world, "the higher-the better." However, they are very comfortable. Well, here they are. You'll certainly see them soon in an outfit post on the blog and these are my new summer wedding party shoes...:-)

                                                               ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Extracted from wikipedia

Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick (IrishLá Fhéile Pádraig, "the Day of the Festival of Patrick"), is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick(c. AD 385–461), the foremost patron saint of Ireland.
Saint Patrick's Day was made an official Christian feast day in the early 17th century and is observed by the Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion (especially the Church of Ireland),[4] the Eastern Orthodox Church, and Lutheran Church. The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland,[3] and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general.[5] Celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals, céilithe, and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks.[6] Christians also attend church services[5][7]and the Lenten restrictions on eating and drinking alcohol are lifted for the day, which has encouraged and propagated the holiday's tradition of alcohol consumption.[5][6][8][9]
Saint Patrick's Day is a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland,[10] Northern Ireland,[11] the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the British Overseas Territory of Montserrat. It is also widely celebrated by the Irish diaspora around the world, especially in Great BritainCanada, the United StatesArgentinaAustraliaand New Zealand.

Patch-Patch Suede and Polka Dots

Hi Friends, I'm back again. I mentioned in my last post which was actually published yesterday that I was having a fun time. Well, the fun continues as you can see...:-). While I was browsing and blogging yesterday, I visited one of my favorite blogs and saw this awesome graphic geo-patch skirt worn by Psyche of Economy of Style. Well, I remembered that I had a similar skirt in my closet which I had not worn in a long, long time. I decided to try it on today to see if it would still fit and it did snugly as you can see...hehehe. It's a tad too short now and I think it is time to get me another skirt like this because I really like the patch work design and here is where the excitement really lies.
The similar skirt worn by Psyche is by ESHAKTI and I am working with them presently to showcase one of their looks on the blog and I'll keep you posted. However, I'm seriously eyeing the ESHAKITI  piece and the fact that you can customize their pieces by adding pockets to them is just awesome.

Okay, suede is trending and this suede skirt is a win! win!!. I paired it with an old sparkly turtle neck sweater that I got from Victorias secret a while back and since the weather is almost like summer now, I just wore light stockings. The Carlos Santana boots I'm wearing is also a patch work of suede and leather haha! And then my old brown leather jacket finished the look. So, you see, fashion bloggers do wear old clothes! Some people think fashion blogging is all about buying and buying and there is little truth to that...**eyes rolling**....lol

My hubby who took my pictures today is making another debut on the blog. We wanted the kids to take a picture of us together but they were running around and did not care...:-). Any time the kids get to be outside when the weather is warm, it is something else.

See you again soon; I got lots of stuff to take care of now. I have been having too much fun lately and eating without care and I have started to pack on all the pounds I lost not too long ago. I have got to start my diet and work out routine again. Our body is the temple of the Holyspirit and we got to take care of it.

Floral Culottes + Graphic tee

Well, we all know that the year is going by really fast these days. The only way we can slow down the pace a bit is when we pause to reflect and enjoy the memories that we make along the way. A good way to make memories is by taking pictures or making videos while still being present. I took these pictures at the later end of the summer this year and they are out of the archives today. The whole look is styled with pieces that have been in the closet for a while except for my "love Jesus" graphic tee which I purchased last summer from a seller on Instagram; a young lady who designs very beautiful graphic tees. I hope you are all doing well.

Black + Metallic

We have started enjoying the great weather and I'm actually working on this post during a family BBQ; yeah, you heard me...:-). I was laying in bed all morning just taking naps, eating and browsing while I let hubby handle things. Mums are entitled to a lazy day sometimes okay?...:-) 'especially if it is a lazy saturday. I was prepared to lay here till bed time until everyone came and pulled and tickled me out of bed. So, iPad in hand, I grudgingly followed and went to the deck to see a feast spread out before me. I was not going to pretend I did not hear all the fuss and running around that was going on during the food prep downstairs. Now, I'm enjoying my ribs and chicken. Yum! Yum!! I love my family for giving me great moments as this.

This outfit was worn to a musical recital I attended a while back that I mentioned in this blog post here. My son takes music lessons and he's learning to play the piano so the school organized a concert   for the graduating students and it was a very fun event. The kids were all dressed up; boys in their suits and ties and girls in their pretty dresses but I was quite surprised that a good number of the people that attended the event were in casuals; denim and sweats. I know it is a free world and people are free to wear whatever they want to events but....not really. It was a concert and a formal event and the least any attendee could do to support the kids was to come in formal attire; at least a jacket over the jeans would have been great.

Anyway, my family and my friends were all dressed up  and I decided to wear this black pant suit. Again, they are separates. The jacket is from Ann Taylor Loft and the pants are from Target. I do not know what I have against buying a complete suit but I think because I already own a lot of jackets, I just get a matching pant and a suit is created; thrifty me...:-). The metallic clutch was thrifted a couple of months ago and I blogged about it here. I'm so glad that I'm incorporating my thrifted accessories into my outfits.

                                                                        Jacket: Ann Taylor Loft
                                                                        Pants: Target
                                                                        Pumps: VS Shoes
                                                                        Necklace: Walmart
                                                                        Purse: thrifted

This outfit was supposed to be just black and metallics but then I couldn't find any metallic or silver earrings to wear. For some reason, I have lost almost all my earrings since my love for statement necklaces started. I was never into jewelry growing up and I remember my mum used to complain about me losing earrings days after I got them. The situation has not changed since and it seems my girls have picked up on it. They have started to lose their earrings too periodically but I do not complain...:-)

I ended up wearing my gold earrings with the outfit and I was not disturbed. They used to say that you could not mix gold and silver accessories together but these days, no rules apply. You can mix whatever you like in your accessories. I actually posted some pictures of this outfit on my instagram a while back and you can check it out here.

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend. I send love and blessings your way.

Pink Suede, Wind Sway,

So spring is here and I'll begin this post with an awesome quote I found in a Loft Catalog that was delivered to my home this week; "Nice knowing ya, Winter; Spring can take it from here." I thought the quote was hilarious and I still giggle just thinking about it. Yeah, spring is definitely here in Minnesota and the snow is all melted off. We have only been dealing with strong winds hence the title of this post. The wind was so bad a few days ago that you had to basically hold your steering wheel until your knuckles almost turned white and a few days ago was when I wore this outfit.

I heard or read somewhere that suede is trending this season and I'm not sure of how the trend started or what designer launched it on their runway. What I'm sure about is that I have had this pink suede jacket in my closet for over a year. I had stopped by at Dress barn to check out their sales (they always have awesome jackets) and I froze when I saw this pink suede jacket on the rack; it was very plush and pretty. However, I had some reservation about it. Who wears suede jacket these days? I thought. I loved the pink color and the rosette attached to the lapel but I did not like the suede fabric. I felt it was sort of "Grandma-ish" or "eighty-ish" but I couldn't let go of it and it followed me home and lounged in my closet until I was invited to a baby christening a few days ago.

                                                                       Pink Blazer: Dress Barn
                                                                       Black Tee: LOFT
                                                                       Pants: Macys
                                                                       Pumps: VS Shoes (old)
                                                                       Purse: Vintage Relic
                                                                       Necklace: Express

Don't you love it when a trend sort of falls into your lap or walks into your closet without much planning or shopping?...:-). I do not remember exactly how much I paid for this jacket but I remember it was a steal. I decided to pair it with this pant from a previous post and if you ask me, I have no idea what kind of prints this pants has. I just call it my sushi pant...:-) because it reminds me of rolls of sushi. I decided to go without earrings again and I have been having this love-hate relationship with earrings lately.

The baby christening was for a baby girl and pink was very appropriate too. I had so much fun at the party and felt so happy and blessed to be there. I love kids a lot and I believe they have to be raised and nurtured to have love for God and for people. A christening or baptism is always one of the ways a child can be set on the right path in life. Have you ever been to a baby christening, baptism or dedication? What would be your first choice of outfit; a dress, skirt or pants?

Jiggles in the Sunset

It was such a beautiful, beautiful day in the twin cities today and I think spring is here already. The forecast for the rest of the week is amazing too; mid fifties to sixty degree temperatures and that means we get to retire all those heavy jackets and layers of clothing; how refreshing. I made a quick stop with the family at the park today and quickly took these pictures and I know we are going to be making more visits here in the next days and months.

Do you wonder why I titled this post "Jiggles in the Sunset?" The jiggles are from the brown belt I wore which has some little spoon like metals dangling from it that made some sweet jingling sounds as I moved. The belt was thrifted a couple of months back and I blogged about it here. My brown boots are so old and are begging to be retired but I like that the boots are very versatile. They can be worn over the knee or scrunched all the way down to the mid-calf. Talk about bang for your bucks! definitely the best way to shop. It was another day of big "hair-don't-care" which is the name I gave to the messy ponytail that I do sometimes with my dreadlocks; very intentional so do not think I'm having a bad hair day...:-).

I hope you all are doing great and enjoying some great weather wherever you are. I have been super busy and have not really had much time to visit friends' blogs to say hello but I would definitely get to it soon. So, please bear with me guys if you have not seen me on your blogs for a while. Have a blessed week.

Progressive Disressed Denim

Hello Friends; I hope the week is going great. In my post here I talked about attending a friend's birthday party for her young son and this is what I wore to the party. It was themed "Cakes and Ice-cream" but may I add "Dance" because we had so much of it too. It was so much fun. I knew the party was going to be a casual event of course so, I decided to wear denim and this distressed denim is as casual as casual can be. I still wore my black cowl neck sweater and my favorite booties for the season and the hat was thrown in to keep my head warm because it was cold and I have been loving hats a lot lately too.

We all know distressed jeans have been trending lately but "Just Sincerely" here did not go out to the mall buying ripped and distressed denim...:-). This pair sort of fell into my lap. I have had this jeans for over five years now and it is what I wore in this post here. The jeans were a tad distressed when I bought them years ago but it distressed more progressively over the years and now fits perfectly with the new trend. I would always have a pair of tights underneath though. You will never find me walking around town with totally distressed or ripped pants showing all my skin. Now, I'm not criticizing those who wear them but I just think I'm too old to wear denim that way...:-). I'll leave it to the young and adventurers at heart. A word of caution though; modesty is the keyword and my bible does preach modesty when it comes to women's fashion.

So, do you like this denim trend and would you wear them totally ripped or you would take the modest approach and get a little bit of cover up? Your thoughts....
