Progressive Disressed Denim

Hello Friends; I hope the week is going great. In my post here I talked about attending a friend's birthday party for her young son and this is what I wore to the party. It was themed "Cakes and Ice-cream" but may I add "Dance" because we had so much of it too. It was so much fun. I knew the party was going to be a casual event of course so, I decided to wear denim and this distressed denim is as casual as casual can be. I still wore my black cowl neck sweater and my favorite booties for the season and the hat was thrown in to keep my head warm because it was cold and I have been loving hats a lot lately too.

We all know distressed jeans have been trending lately but "Just Sincerely" here did not go out to the mall buying ripped and distressed denim...:-). This pair sort of fell into my lap. I have had this jeans for over five years now and it is what I wore in this post here. The jeans were a tad distressed when I bought them years ago but it distressed more progressively over the years and now fits perfectly with the new trend. I would always have a pair of tights underneath though. You will never find me walking around town with totally distressed or ripped pants showing all my skin. Now, I'm not criticizing those who wear them but I just think I'm too old to wear denim that way...:-). I'll leave it to the young and adventurers at heart. A word of caution though; modesty is the keyword and my bible does preach modesty when it comes to women's fashion.

Denim: Old (Deb Stores)

So, do you like this denim trend and would you wear them totally ripped or you would take the modest approach and get a little bit of cover up? Your thoughts....

1 Samuel 16:7English Standard Version (ESV)

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

Oversized Winter Whites..

I'm back again with an outfit I wore this past weekend; all white everything; winter whites that is. Winter whites do not have to be real white or pure whites pieces so cream color pieces are okay for this look. I also created a Polyvore collage on it here. It is a look I have been wanting to recreate for a while now especially the oversized camel color coat. I scored this one from my favorite consignment store yet again and it is different from the one I wore in this post. I'm glad I did not have to spend a ton on winter coats this season.

As you can see every item in this look is oversized and baggy even down to my chunky booties which I really do not wear often. I wore the black color pair here and a better look of this pair here. It's all sold out now and one thing I love about the booties is that the animal print lapels can be turned up to create a total different look; talk about some versatile pair of booties. Now, I'm looking to recreate all the other winter whites outfits in the polyvore collage.

Matthew 12:13-15New International Version (NIV)

13 Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. 14 But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.

The day after the V-Day

Happy Sunday Friends; I hope you had a blast yesterday and that the weekend is going great. I just wanted to share the OOTD for the day after Valentine. You know, the love continues. Most of us were all glammed up and cute yesterday and it won't be a good idea to just turn around today and be a "whoosh" whatever that means...:-). So, in order to keep the glamour going for this special sunday, I decided to wear something very feminine and soft and simple and this floral hem faux wrap maxi skirt was my first choice. I got it from Macys on sale a while back.

The black cowl neck top was a great alternative to a regular turtle neck or as opposed to just using a scarf. Boy! it is cold!! It is only 7 degrees in the twin cities today and it's been cloudy all day. In fact, we are not going to see any sun until wednesday the weather report says. So, it was very essential to dress in layers today but I had to find a way to be layered up and still be glam.

Pardon my chipped nails; I did a quick manicure this morning but it wasn't that great...:-).

Uuhhh, I had to adjust my purse straps though my son was saying "Mum, hurry up!" I just had to include this picture and his statement because I know he would be reading this blog someday...:-). Okay, here goes my quick post. We have a birthday party to attend this evening and I will let you know how it goes. I intend to wear something very simple and fun.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8New International Version (NIV)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
