Stripes and a Sweater

Hi Friends; the love for stripes continues in this space here. I love the stripe prints so much that I recently added lots of pieces to my wardrobe and I cannot wait to share them all. This long drapey tank is not so new though. I got it last fall and I love it so much as a layering piece that I purchased them in two colors. My favorite prints used to be animal prints but we now have a winner as you can see. So, if you love stripes like I do, stop by once a while to say hi and see if I have another striped piece up.

The deep wine color cords was purchased from Loft last summer and I like the fact that it can be dressed up for formal occasions or down for whatever. Of course, the mustard color sweater just adds a burst of color to the entire outfit.

Sweater: Victorias secret (sold out-similar)

Necklace: J. Crew Factory

Are you into the stripes print as I am or you just don't care?...lol. I have been a little busy behind the scenes but I am so glad that I am able to organize my schedule in a way that I can still continue to put up posts on the blog. I love it here and I will be back again very soon.

Stripes on the "go" and "thankful"

Just knowing that we are in the middle of the year and the month of June makes me very excited and thankful. I am thankful to God that I am still here doing all the things I love to do which includes blogging and also, I am wearing one of my favorite dresses of the season; this stripped dress I purchased at Loft and blogged about here. The dress was sold out in my size so, I went a size up just to make sure I got it. This  dress can go anywhere from work to play depending on how it is accessorized. Hey! I am wearing my latest shoe addition too; the black suede pumps I got from Asos for Mother's Day.

The green bag I am using in this post was actually thrifted from a vintage thrift store and I blogged about it here too. At the time I got this bag, I just liked the shape and color and I never knew it is actually a bucket bag until I saw this bag here. I wonder why the maker never put their tag or label on it. If I am able to achieve one of my dreams of being a designer or if I ever get to make anything for sale, I would affix my logo everywhere...lol.

How do you feel about us being in the middle of the year already?Do you have half or all of the things on your bucket list done? Are most of your new year resolutions met yet? Earlier in the year, I mentioned that I was nominated to serve in a committee in my school district and we just rounded up meetings for the school year a couple of weeks ago. Those that are not visitors to this blog already know that I blog from the state of Minnesota which is one of the coldest states in the US. Fortunately, one of the incentives of living here is that we are one of the states with very good education system in the US. The awesome thing is that, the state wants to even do better and be the #1 in ranking. So, part of the work we are doing in my district committee in the elementary and high school level is how to make things even better with our education. You can read about it here.

So, for me, one of my goals for the year was to volunteer and contribute more to my community and I am achieving that so far. There is still time to make plans and contribute to a greater good if you have not made a commitment already. Okay, I apologize for my long rant..lol. I deviated a bit from the topic at hand; the striped dress.

Shoes: Asos (blogged about here)

If you are reading this post right now, I am thankful that we are here doing one of our favorite things and I am thankful to you for stopping by.

I love Sunshine and Coral

Hi Friends; yeah, we had sunshine in the twin cities today; lots and lots of it. The sky was so blue and beautiful. I decided to celebrate the beautiful sun-shinny weather by bursting out in my summer brights. I threw on a light coral cable knit sweater and my coral color pumps to cruise around in. I also had on the latest addition to my sunnies collection; a love shaped sunglasses I got recently from Loft. I changed from heels to flats later on to go shopping. The outfit was a little matchy-matchy and though this might not be the trend right now, but sometimes, matchy-matchy is good. As I write this post, I am still basking in the sun rays streaming from the open windows. What a beautiful day!

There is no condition that is permanent in life. After the rain comes the sun and after winter comes spring. The only thing that is unchangeable in life is God. He was there from the beginning and he created all. With him (God) all things are possible.

John 1: 1-5 King James Version (KJV)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Floral in the Rain

So, it has been raining a lot in Minneapolis lately and though I love the rain; I also love the sun. I like to see the flowers blooming on a beautiful, sunny day. Well, it started raining again this morning and I just could not hold off anymore. If nature would not give me flowers on a bright, sunny day, I will create my own flowers on a rainy spring day...:-).  I went in my closet and got this floral sweatshirt I got at Loft a while ago and threw on some accessories. The black denim is also from Loft and I love the zipper on the sides which is not obvious from these pictures. If you are a frequent visitor to this blog, you would have known by now that I love Loft. It is one of my favorite stores aside from Victorias Secret and Forever 21. Also, if you notice that I am frowning; I was just tired of the rain because it kept drizzling even as I took these pictures.

I usually do not like sweat shirts because of their boxy silhouette but I really loved the floral prints on this one and after I rolled up the sleeves, it was not too bad. I loved this floral sweatshirt so much that I created an outfit on it in Polyvore here and blogged about it here. The sweatshirt is currently on sale at Loft and you might want to check it out. I wish you a great and wonderful weekend and see you soon; here or on your blogs.

Pop of Yellow

The weekend is over but I am glad it is a holiday tomorrow and that means we are going to have a short work week and that is so awesome. I went to a friend's graduation ceremony today; he has been a practicing pharmacist for year before he decided to go back to school for his masters degree. And it was quite great that he finished the program at the intended time even with family obligations. A very big congratulations to the graduating class of 2015 everywhere; way to go!

I decided to put on this jumpsuit for the occasion because it is so fun and a bit trendy at the same time. I added a pop of color with my yellow heels because yellow is the color for the season and I like the way, yellow, black and white go so well together. If you are able to overlook the inconvenience of going to the ladies room, jumpsuits are very great party outfits. It has been raining a lot over here in Minneapolis and I hope it is nice and dry where you are.

Amazing!!

I have only been away from the blog for about a week and I feel like I have been away longer than that...:-). I missed my blog, my precious little space, so I am here again for a quick post. There are so many things happening behind the scenes which I will share later because I have been busy. You might be wondering what is amazing about this post based on the title and I will tell you what it is at the end of the post but first of all, let's talk about the outfit.

This dress is what I wore on Mother's day and I did not really want to share the photos because as you can tell, I looked like I just had a workout at the gym but that's not really a sweaty face; it was raindrops. Yeah, it was all rainy on mother's day but the sun peeked out occasionally. I got this floral dress from a local boutique in my neighborhood and they do not have a website but are on Facebook. I loved the floral prints on the dress a lot but I did not like the fact that it had no sleeves. I would like to share a secret with you; I am very self conscious about my fat arms which have always been big even when I was very skinny while growing up. This is the main reason why I always wear clothes with sleeves or always have a jacket with me for coverup when I wear sleeveless tops. So, this jacket was purchased at Macys a long time ago and it is different from the one I wore in this previous post here. Remember I told  you almost every jacket in my closet has a twin?....hehehe. Do you think this outfit is a lot similar to the one I created on polyvore here?

Blazers: Macys
                                                                        Dress: Elite Apparel
                                                                        Purse: Express
                                                                        Shoes: Louboutins

Okay, so you know "Yours Sincerely" here likes to talk or write a lot right?..lol. Now let's talk about what's amazing about this post. My first daughter started kindergarten last fall and she talked about her new friend Ella all the time. They are in the same class and best friends. Well, it happened that Ella got sick a lot and she was diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year. She went through a series of chemo treatments and missed school a lot. My daughter was very sad and when Ella lost all her hair it was quite devastating. I thank God that Ella's parents are strong believers in God and there were lots of prayers for sweet little Ella. Miraculously, Ella went for her scan a few days ago and all the cancer cells are gone! Amazing. Everone is so overjoyed. She still needs to go in to the hospital every three or six months for check-ups but that's okay. At least now, she can start to have a normal life again fit for a five year old. IF YOU WANT TO READ MORE ABOUT ELLA, YOU CAN VISIT THE CARING BRIDGE WEBSITE HERE; her mum constantly updates the site but you will need to sign in with a google or other social media account to get access. She turns six next weekend and we are all going to be at her birthday party.
