Into the Garden

Jacket: Forever 21 (old)
White tee: Hanes
Pant: Loft
Bag: Aldo
Shoes: Colin Stuart

Hi Friends; we had a somewhat dreary weekend in the twin cities. There was rain and thunderstorm the whole day yesterday and it actually caused power outages, flood and fallen trees in some areas. I feel sorry for those fathers that had to spend their father's day (the whole of today) cleaning up after the storm. It was still raining this morning when we woke up to get ready for church.

The rain made me to get out this floral jacket I purchased from Forever 21 a while back that I talked about here and previously wore here. The jacket reminds me of a flower garden and its purple and green neon  colors make it perfect to wear in the spring and summer. Can you believe that I got this jacket on sale for less than twenty dollars? **Win! Win!!**

I just made another purchase from Forever 21 a few days ago and I am dying to show you what I bought this time…:-). Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and do not forget to check out the ongoing giveaway on the blog. Check it out in the link below.

It's game time! The World Cup Soccer tournament is currently on and is being hosted by Brazil. Although I am not so much of a sports enthusiast but I do love to watch Soccer especially because hubby loves it too...:-). We could not go to Brazil to watch the games live but we surely have not missed any game either; thanks to "On demand feature and DVR." I have been curled up on the couch all day watching game after game. The outfit collage that I created on Polyvore above mimics the outfit that I have been living in since the beginning of this weekend; shorts, shirt and socks! I wish I own that lovely animal prints Proenza Schouler bag though..:-)

Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers out there. Thanks so much for stopping by and do not forget about the ongoing giveaway on the blog. Check it out in the link below.

Forever 21 Again

Ding! Dong!!
Ding! Dong!! What?
Ding! Dong!! there is a mailman at the door!!
A mailman? What did he deliver?
A Package from Forever 21!!!

Hi friends, I just wanted to talk about my recent purchase from forever 21. First of all, I would like to say that I find it a little strange and funny that I still shop at forever 21…:-) If you have been reading this little blog of mine, you must know by now that I am in my thirties so it is no secret. But, sssshhhh, maybe that is why my favorite store is Victorias Secret?  It's been over a year since I last made a purchase from F21 and you can check out the post here.

Well, ladies, let's keep the age thing in the secret for now while we find out what a thirty-something year old lady purchased from Forever 21.com. However, this is just a tease as I am not going to reveal the items in this post. Watch out for them on this blog  this summer.

Orange Pop!

Hi beautiful friends; what a beautiful and great day it is in Minneapolis today. It had rained a lot for the past few days but there was a break today; sunny and nice. I just got back from church and this is what I wore. I pulled out my orange jacket which I had not worn in a long time and I really do not remember where I purchased it but I do know it is one of my favorite jackets. Do you sometimes buy stuff and forget what store or where it was purchased? I guess the answer would be yes. It would somehow be near impossible to keep track of where your whole wardrobe originated from.

I paired my jacket over a pair of black cropped pants and a stripped tee and I was ready to go. You might think it was too much clothing for the nice summer weather but guess what happened to the back of the stripped tee when I took off my orange jacket? PEEKABOOOOO…:-)

Cropped Pants and Foldover Clutch: hereTarget
                                                   Orange Jacket: (old) similar here
                                                   Stripped Tee: here
                                                   Shoes: Colin Stuart (old) here
                                                   Necklace: Express here

Well, I might forget where my orange jacket was purchased but I certainly did not forget what scripture we read in church today. One of the scriptures that was read was;

  Luke 18:1

1. And he spake a parable unto them to this end; that men ought always to pray and not to faint; 2. saying; there was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man. 3. And there was a widow in the city; and she came unto him, saying: Avenge me of mine adversary. 4. And he would not for a while; but afterwards he said within himself. Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5. Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6. And the Lord said; hear what the unjust judge saith. 7. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8. I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Hi Friends, I hope you all had a great week and are ready for the Summer. I have finally put away all my winter gear and I am so excited!!! "Yay!" We have a very short summer in the state of Minnesota and we do all we can to enjoy it to the fullest while it lasts. I looked through my closet and noticed that these items are highly needed this Summer. Mind you, this is not an exhaustive list and this list would not work for everyone but it works for me and I just wanted to share. You will know that the flats or sandals are not on this list but those are essentials that should already be in your closet from the time of Adam….:-)

Cardigan:

If you live in a cold and arid region like I do you will know that the cardigan is one  clothing item that you can never really do without. It suddenly turns cold in the evenings in the Summer time and a pretty, durable cardigan in a summery color is a must have for those times when the Summer temperature takes a nose dive.

Trench Coat:

So, if we can have the cardigan for summer, a cute trench coat would also be needed right?.:-) The trench coat is a stylish outer wear that can be worn the whole year through to keep warm or just to look stylish and cool in one of those visits to the movie theatre or those indoor events where the AC is jacked up and you can not adjust the thermostat because you are not in your own home..:-)

Silk Scarf:

The silk scarf serves almost the same purpose as the trench coat and the cardigan and it can also be used just for accessorizing an outfit.

Statement Necklace:

A bold necklace is needed to accessorize those summer dresses and since the entire winter and spring was all about the winter scarfs and snoods, a statement necklace is a nice replacement.

Denim Shirt:

The denim shirt is trending this summer. It can be worn over slacks and shorts when there is need to dress down for that walk in the park or family gathering and can also be paired with a nice skirt and great heels when there is a need to dress up.

Wedge Pumps:

We all know that Summer is all about events and conventions right? If you are invited to a formal occasion that is going to stretch for hours, then the wedge pump is a "must have." Wedges are trending and in style and you also get to give your feet a break.

Statement Print Pumps:

Printed shoes always are on trend every summer; and the prints can be floral, animal prints, dots or stripes. It is that pumps that can be worn with a dress to that summer wedding and to add to the fun, you can always switch out the statement pumps for the statement sandals when you need to give the feet some tlc.

Bold Color Pumps:

The pointed toe pumps in a very beautiful hue can accessorize that pair of jeans or shorts for a day out with friends or with the family. The bold color hue is a nod  to the beautiful colors seen  outdoors.

Sling back sandals:

Sandals do not have to be open toed all the time and they also do not have to be flats. The sling back is midway between the pumps and the regular sandals and can be worn to work or those formal events in the summer time. It can also transition to that less formal office event or outdoor party. Color blocking is still trending this summer so, having an item like a pair of shoes or a clutch in color blocking hue is a chic way of wearing the trend without having to dress in color block outfits.
