Green Gig!!

It's Sunday, April 8th and it's Easter!! Christ is risen!! Amen. I just love Easter holiday...:) I decided to put on green color outfit to church today because of the power of the color Green. Green symbolises life, abundance, wealth and Power. The Weather was a lit bit mild (not too cold or too hot) so, it played a role when I was putting my outfit together. I have on this beautiful green print georgette (did I spell that right?..lol ) dress that is flared out at the waist and a black jacket with quarter sleeves and as usual, very minimal jewelry. My green MR. KT shoes topped off the outfit. I had so much fun at church and all through the entire day that I decided to call this post; "Green Gig." I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Celebration.

My family and I stopped by to see a Pastor friend of ours after church at his business office. He has a nice driving school hence the big postal you can see behind me in the photo..:)

Trying to enjoy the weather...lol. "Take a deep breath.."

I really love the spiral design on the jacket. It's just a simple jacket with no linning or buttons and very suitable for the weather. Did I tell you that the jacket was thrifted? Yes, it was!...:)

The dress has very tiny sleeves so the jacket was highly needed!...-) Serving dual purpose as a covering and to keep warm from the slightly cold weather.
Did you notice that I have on green nail polish on my nails? That was just a coincidence..not planned at all. I had on the green nail polish all week. However, I think everything turned out nicely. Not too much green? I hope...lol

I certainly need more help in the "hair and make-up" department..lol

Now, to the gist on how the whole oufit came into being...I got those shoes first at DSW. (Designer Shoe Warehouse) I walked in there one day and walked straight to the clearance racks. I have tons of shoes at home and really was not planning on buying any pair that day...lol. I just wanted to do some window shopping.

Well, I looked through the racks starting from size 8 and half to 11 (I'm in between sizes 9 and 10) and "traa laa!" There were the cutest pair of green shoes staring at me from one of the racks...:) You know what happened after that!...:)

I got the shoes and did not really have any matching outfit in my clost but kept them anyways. I went thrifting for accessories some time later and discovered the black jacket and the green dress was found in the clearance dept at TJ Max. I always had the green nugget necklace. I purchased it a long time ago but do not really remember what store.  I was surprised at how all the green shades matched perfectly! What do you think lovely ladies?

Orange + Brown

Jacket and Skirt from Loft, knit tank top from Target, and shoes from DSW.

                                                                        Semi-Corporate Look

Orange, orange...This is a very tough color to work with when doing office wears and I am still thinking of other creative ways to make this color work without it looking like a flight attendant's uniform..lol. Top is random, skirt is custom made (loved the fabric and just had to have it..) and heels are from Colin Stuart/ VictoriasSecret catalogue.

Pink Things...

Did I mention I love blazers and suits?...:) I love formal wear which I usually call "Corporate wear" or "Corporate attire" and I love dresses in between. As we all know, it is easy to pick up colored dresses from the store rack and build up a colorful closet. But what happens when you love blazers and suits? They usually do not come in pastels; more in neutrals, dark and grey colors....
This is a recent outfit I put together. I was happy to find this pink A-line skirt and pink/black pin striped jacket at a store and I think it all came together nicely. The pink slip-ons are pretty old; I've had them for years.

I wear this outfit to work and also to church and that is right about it. I do not think it is suitable for any other occassion like dinners and stuff..What do you think?

I say again, Pink is not a usual color for corporate attires and it is a very tricky color to work with. When doing pink as office wear, it is best to stay off a "full pink outfit" in order to appear professional and business like. A full pink outfit is best for a wedding ceremony, a bridal shower or other girly intimate parties. So, the advice is this; "Never go to the office in an "all-pink attire."

For this look, I am wearing a black jacket with pink/black-pin stripes and a black camisole over a pink A-line pleated skirt and  pink slip-on heels by Collin Stuart from Victoriassecret Catalogue. Some offices have dress code for their employees and colors like pink are not allowed and if you work in such a place, it's better to follow the rules. However, if you have your own business or you are in a place where you are given more freedom, just have fun with your outfits. If you think the pink is too much, you can swop the pink heels for black. Also, another thing to remember when wearing a pink skirt is this; "Put on dark colored undergarments...lol." Pink fabric, just like white and other light colors can be very transparent

For the Semi-Corporate look of this pink outfit, see below;

I have been having issues with my camera lately. The flash probably never came on when I took these pictures so, the quality is really poor. It's hard to tell the actual colors of the garments and I just had to take snap-shots of the outfit on the hangers!...lol

Pardon the creases on the skirt...

My green skirt suit

For this look, I am wearing a green skirt suit which I actually bought in separate stores. (Green is one of my favorite colors and it was really exciting for me to put this whole outfit together.) I bought the green blazer from a thrift store and the skirt from the clearance rack at dress barn. The sand color MR. KT. heels are from DSW and my other accessories and bag were all thrifted.

Know more about me plus meet my Family...

Hi everyone, I hope everything is going great. I promised in my previous post to share a little more about myself and that is what this post is all about.

Put up my dreadlocks in a ponytail for the Ceremony..

So, let me re-introduce myself; I am Beauty, in my mid thirties; and married with three beautiful kids. These are some of the pictures from my Family album. The first set of pictures are from my wedding. Style wise, I'm wearing a beautiful A-line dress that I purchased from David's Bridal with pink glass beads in the floral appliques (not obvious from the pictures) and elbow length gloves.

Make me up....

Make up tips anyone?...This is the best I can do for myself when it comes to make-up and to be honest, I really do not have time to apply make-up. I'm always at a rush to get out the door. I do my best to arrive on time for work and any occasion that make-up is totally out of the question. does any Mom out there agree with me?

My little black dress

The little black dress is definitely an essential piece that should be in every lady's closet because it has diverse function. It can be worn to any event with the right accessories. You can wear an LBD (little black dress) to the office, church, meetings, parties etc. I don't even know how many black dresses I own (like most women) and I usually just change the accessories out for different occasions.

My Chartreuse color Dress

Dresses are my number one go to outfit; they are easy to wear and simple to style.  I'm not sure if I mentioned it in my first post; I am a mom of three and though I love fashion and dressing up, it is really hard to put looks together when you have three little ones to take care off and that is why I am happy that I started this blog. I hope it helps me to get my fashion sense together again as every busy mom should. We, mothers should never lose ourselves; our health, our style, our dreams, visions..etc as a result of parenting. I look forward to sharing more about me in future posts.

So, I'm picking one dress out of many that I own and it is this particular one I'm wearing above. This chartreuse color dress is one of my favorite dresses because the color is so gorgeous, the fabric is comfy and it's got flirty fun sleeves. I'm putting on a pair of black shoes on to pull the look together. My accessories are very minimal and the look is totally fun...I wear the dress to church and
have worn it to other events like bridal shower and I think I wore it to a barbeque once; time to give it a break!...Lol

Beige and Brown Outfit

Hello everyone...:-) I hope you are doing great. Just a quick post on what I wore to Church a while back. I started out by trying to style a monochrome beige look then just threw on the brown off-shoulder-blouse last minute. The end result was some sort of color block look rather than monochrome.

Wine Top and Denim Casual Look

Hi, I hope everyone is doing great in Blogsville.  I did mention in my earlier Posts that I own a lot of dresses and very few pants and this is another casual denim look; very simple look. I'm wearing a wine color peplum top with straps at the waist I got from TJ Maxx a while ago on a pair of distressed denim and metallic flats.
