Fall Work Dresses

Happy Monday...:-) It's all about dresses for work  this Fall season on Work wear Monday today on the blog. We all know knit dresses and sweater dresses are very popular in the Fall and Winter seasons and this post is all about highlighting some ways we can make this season's dresses stylish and chic for work.

Fun Accessories

Add some fun to a demure knit dress by throwing in very fun accessories in beautiful and stylish prints like leopard print pumps, a statement bag or a cozy chic neck scarf. And since it is cold season, make the tights fun too and a statement coat would not hurt.

Color Blocking

Color blocking is another way of making the season's dress stand out. Swap a solid color knit dress for a color block one like this "Phase Eight Abbey belted dress" in the set below and you'll look polished and chic and ready for work. You can also alternate by wearing a solid plain color dress and accessorizing with a cool statement color block bag like the one pictured here and here and

 Add Color

Color should not be forgotten at this time of the year; it should be incorporated into Fall Fashion in every way. Transform that summer dress into fall by layering it with a sweater or a turtle neck top and use belts and brooches to tie in the look. A warm and cozy coat should be the icing on the cake for the whole look and if you work in an environment that is friendly to Fall fashion, you can swap out the pumps for a pair of over the knee boots.

Eshakti Midi dress

Happy Friday Friends; it's the weekend; woot! woot!! 'time to start the preparation for the upcoming holidays and some fabulous holiday shopping (if you have not started already). Have you picked an outfit for yourself yet? If you haven't, it's not too late to shop and I have the perfect store information for you; Eshakti!

I got this beautiful green color dress from Eshakti and it is the perfect holiday dress. I love the style, the fabric, quality and the color. The amazing thing too is that this dress comes in several other yummy colors; like cobalt, egg plant and navy. It also comes with a customization feature at the time of purchase because that is what Eshakti does; it is an online store that specializes in customized fashion and also has sizes ranging from 0-36W.  With this dress, I had the option of changing the neckline to a different style, changing the length of the sleeves, changing the length of the dress and the option of having pockets. It's like having your personal seamstress on line.

Customization is free for the first purchase you order and presently, you get a $30 gift coupon if you are a new customer. There are new designs at the site every week so shopping on the Eshakti site is always fun and exciting. Read more about it HERE.

Floral Circle Skirt

Some floral love on here today; I am sharing a quick look at this floral circle skirt I wore during the summer to a friend's baby shower; very simple and fun skirt in my opinion. I say all the time how amazing it is that floral skirts are so chic these days and they can be edgy too depending on how you style them. Floral skirts for the win! Like I said in my previous post, we are still enjoying gorgeous weather in my state of Minnesota so there is  no fall fashion on here at the moment. Have a beautiful rest of the week Friends.

Moving Forward...

Hi Friends,  It's quite an interesting day today in the United States. The result of the election for the 45th president was quite a shocker. My opinion is that it is time for everyone to move forward and work together as a united Nation irrespective of our differences. I decided to share some pictures of my recent birthday celebration on the blog today to keep my mind off current events.

My very good girl friends planned for us all to get together for a ladies night to celebrate my birthday and it was beautiful. I wore my one shoulder glitter dress that I have had in the closet for years and I blogged about it a couple of years  ago here. I regard it as my special birthday dress because I got it from T. J maxx years ago for my second daughter's first year birthday. I reserved it for only special celebrations since then. I paired it with an almost choker necklace and burgundy strap heels. The dress is certainly a nod to the off shoulder and cold shoulder trend. 'funny how fashion trends keep recycling.

Moving forward, I give God Thanks for my life, my family, my wonderful friends and for this blog and for everyone who stops by here.

Rock the Vote in style! 2

The time has come for history to be made; election day in America. Just like every occasion or event, you have to dress for it. You have to dress to the polls in great style irrespective of who you are voting for. And if you decide to accessorize with election materials/accessories, you don't have to look dowdy and frumpy in them. Below are some outfit inspiration for looking chic on election day.

Navy blue color blazer

Hi  Friends, today is work wear Monday and my post today is on the "navy blue blazer" which I believe is a "must have" for the corporate working girl. Actually, one of the essential clothing piece a working lady needs to have in her closet is the "neutral color blazer" which can be grey, black or beige and when you start to add other colors of blazer to your closet, the navy blue color blazer would be a great choice. This navy color blazer can pair with lots of neutral pieces and for casual Fridays, you can pair it with a cute pair of denim, striped or gingham pants for work. If you are the type that does not like blazers or works in a casual attire work place, a cardigan or vest in a navy blue color would be a great addition too.

Mustard Color Blazer

Happy Friday Friends and happy month off November. I believe the Fall season is underway in most cities in America but my city, Minneapolis is still enjoying gorgeous summer-like weather. This is a very happy development for most people that live here in Minneapolis, Minnesota because it means we have fewer months of Winter to deal with. Our winter can be brutal Friends; so any beautiful warm weather we get, we enjoy it to the fullest. The Fall boots and trench coats are not out yet in full force over here in my neck of the woods.

This post features one of my most colorful blazers paired over a pair of gingham pants; a look I wore a few weeks ago. Mustard color screams Fall and it is a great color to wear at this time of the year. What do you think off the pairing and do you own any piece in this color? I'll love to know what other colors you think can be paired with this blazer; hunter green, burgundy...?
