How to style an old dress from your Closet

Hi everyone, Happy Monday 😆 I hope your weekend was beautiful. If you live in the United States, I hope you had a great Father's day celebration; mine was beautiful. We had a Church dinner with lots and lots of yummy food. It's been raining a lot in the twin cities though and I am wondering when sunny beautiful summer weather is eventually going to get here. I am looking forward to re-styling lots and lots of pieces from my closet. This post is on how to re-style old pieces from our closets. I know most of the time fashion blogs are all about buying, buying, buying...I have slowed down a bit on shopping and focus now on re-styling pieces from my closet.

Recently, rainbow prints or asymmetric prints was trending and I remembered that I had this purple stripped dress in my closet. I wore it to church last week and in order to make it fit to the current trend or season, I just updated it with a brown straw bag. I used the opportunity to wear my old brown platform pumps again too. For some reason, platform pumps are really outdated but since this pair is in a very dark brown color, I decided to pair it with the dress. The tip for re-styling an old dress is to pair it with something new; maybe some trending accessory like a straw bag or a pair of trending shoes; just mix old and new pieces and you are good to go. Do you get excited as I do when old items from your closet fit? I remember that I have styled this dress before on the blog and you can see the post here.  I definitely do not care about re-styling clothing pieces or items on the blog.

And talking about old posts, I thank God I am still here blogging. My blog turned six last March and when you love what you do, you are happy when you are able to keep it up despite obstacles and challenges you encounter along the way. I love writing and publishing and fashion  and I have taken a couple of breaks off when I needed to which is perfectly okay too. A few months ago, I did some blogging housekeeping and changed the name of my blog which was previously Beauty's World to Beauty's Fashion Zone. You can read a bit more about my history of blogging here. So, to many more years of doing this...Cheers! 😙

  1. hi! I finally made it over to the new blog. And I just havent commented in a while as I was taking a break myself from blogging. you look great as always. I don't think there is anything wrong with shopping your stash/closet - it's much better for the environment. Plus, there will always be new clothes. Enjoy what you already own and look fab while doing it.
