Army Green

Hi Friends; I hope we are all doing great. It's almost the end of the year and I pray for God's mercy and protection on us all. I'm back again for some quick chit chat. This outfit is what I wore to church a few weeks ago. Every piece in this outfit has been in my closet for ages and I just threw everything on in haste that morning. When I first purchased this cameo pumps, I was a bit skeptical on how I was going to style them but so far so good; I have been able to pair a couple of pieces in my wardrobe with them.

Fall is certainly boots season when the stores display their latest and finest and if by the onset of winter you do not have your own pair of boots out and ready yet, then you certainly live in the tropics or some place with very mild winter in which case I envy you. The weather in the fall and winter months at my end usually call for the full season gear and to be honest, it is this trendy and chic wardrobe which includes boots, gorgeous scarfs, hats and coats that makes the season bearable. If you are out shopping for new boots this season, the options featured in the collages above are classics that will never go away. They continue to trend every season.

Gone are the days when "leopard prints"was every lady's print; when leopard print accessories were the trend. These days, classic prints like polka dots, houndstooth, gingham and tartan (plaid) have entered main street fashion. They can be in the form of accessories like scarfs, bags and hats and they can also be the classic winter coat or jacket. Last year, I did a similar post on the classic winter prints here and a year later they are still here. What I'm really loving most about these prints is their evolution from coats and jackets into scarfs, I'm definitely loving this trend; are you?

Burgundy deal

Hola!..:-). I'm seriously loving the Spanish language these days and I'm sure I have been watching too much of "Dora" on the kid's network. I need a break from mommy life...lo.  'Thank God my girlfriends and I are planning a girls night out soon. We usually get together now and then for a dinner or movie date to chill and chit-chat and I just can't wait. I also have a friend's wedding anniversary celebration coming up this weekend so, the party season has officially started for me.

This outfit is what I wore to church last Sunday and it is burgundy overload. I got the hat over the summer and I really liked the color and considered adding it to my Christmas gift list but when I looked on the website just a few days after receiving my order in the mail, it had sold out. The leather skirt and burgundy sweater are recent addition and these Altuzarra booties are from last season. I thought at first that this monochrome look was a bit too much but I think the textures of the pieces balanced everything out.

The Yellow blazer

I think a blazer is a fashion piece that every woman should own no matter her style or fashion choice. It is so versatile that it can be worn on its own as a top or it can be used as a layering piece. When shopping for one, it is always best to get one in a neutral color first before adding different  colors and styles. I got this yellow one years ago and though I do not wear it often but it is such a great color to own. I paired it with this stripped tank top and skinny jeans and it really popped. I wore this outfit late in the summer along with this jewelry that I scored at Victorias Secret for free after making a minimum $75 purchase.

The year is almost at an end and I am looking forward to my end of year summary for the blog; so much reflection to do. I thank God for bringing me this far in life and I also thank him for many more miracles in store for me. I  am thankful too to my friend Fola for my feature on her blog. Check out the feature in the link below to know some tid bits about me...:-).

Teal and Grid

I said a while ago that I was going to start sharing some work inspired looks here every now and then and this outfit is just one of such. The sandals might not be appropriate for a regular work day but it would do just fine on a casual Friday. The tie neck blouse was my favorite in the summer and I actually bought this in so many other colors too from Loft. The blouses are very silky and soft and pair so well with blazers. The grid pant from talbots is something different from the grid midi skirt that was trending in the summer.

This is just a quick post here and since I have so many pictures saved in my phone; I would try to put up at least one post a day. I hope the weather is great wherever you are? I wish you a great and wonderful weekend but I'll be back soon.

How to wear a cropped sweater

Cropped Sweater Set

Cropped sweaters have been trending for a long time and what I really like about them is that you can style them with different pieces. They go well with denim pants, leather skirts and even a plain, chic midi skirt and they can very be appropriate for most occasions depending on how you style them.

I have a recent love for cropped sweaters that led to the creation of the outfits above on Polyvore and now I wish I could just close my eyes for a minute and find them all in my closet. Before miracles like that can happen, I'm just happy feeding my eyes; which of this set is your favorite?

Happy December!

Hola!! It's been a while here; I have abandoned my blog unintentionally this past month and it just hurts to even think about it. I have been so busy with the family and the kids. My older son who recently started playing basketball has practice twice a week and this is in addition to the piano lessons he already takes once a week. He has been going to music school for piano lessons for years now and I thought he was going to quit his music lessons to concentrate on basket ball but the young man wants to do it all and it is us the parents that have to chauffeur him to all these events...lol. These extra activities really affected my blogging time.

I have been taking pictures now and then though but I just do not get enough time to sit and write on my computer as I am doing right now. This is why I am glad that I recently started using my instagram account actively because I have been using that as a back-up plan to fuel my photography/blogging addiction...hehehe..Well, I am back again and I am determined to continue my blogging schedule like before. No, I am not going to abandon my responsibilities and chores at home; it just means I can only do quick posts with less writing and you know I love to "bla-bla" if you have been following this blog for a while...lol.

Anywho; this is how it currently looks in my neck of the woods. We finally got our first snowfall over the weekend after enjoying days of beautiful fall weather without the white stuff like it used to be in previous seasons. I added a couple of bomber jackets to my coat collection just to add interest to my outer wear wardrobe and this outfit is somewhat a recreation of this Polyvore Outfit Inspiration here.

What have you been up to? Any new hobbies? My son added basketball to his music lessons and I added an active instagram account to my blog. Would you believe me if I told you I do not yet have a twitter account? hehehe...lol; funny but true. It was a deliberate act on my part not to have a twitter account before now but I think I am now ready. I'll be writing my first tweet on January first by God's grace and hopefully, I'll be able to make new friends on there too. Please, leave your instagram and twitter information on here and I'll be sure to join your network. Happy new month of December and all of God's blessings.

Purple Peplum

I wore this peplum top a few Sundays ago to Church and took these pictures after a long day. I thought afterwards that I should have reserved the top for Sunday after thanksgiving because to tell you the truth; as you might know by now; peplum tops do hide all that belly fat nicely and I plan to indulge in turkey dinners this Thursday. I wish I was able to get this particular one in a grey or black color though then it would have made a great pairing with a pair of culottes and boots for the fall weather.

I got this peplum top from Venus, an online store that sells good quality and affordable clothing. I don't shop with them all the time but they do deliver their store catalogues to my house diligently. To digress, I know most people love digital stuff and online shopping just like I do and would like to do "paperless" anything but I just love fashion catalogues in print and get excited when I get a fashion catalogue in the mail. So, as I was saying, I saw this purple peplum top in a Venus Catalog and I really loved it and I went online and ordered it and the top arrived exactly the way it was shown in the catalog.

Pumps: Heels.com
Purse & Necklace: Loft

I planned to make this post very short and I am going to sign out right now but I would love to know if anyone remembers or have (has) ever ordered any item from a print (paper) catalogue before. This question does not apply to the Millennials (twentys or under twentys) who would stop by here though...lol. They certainly would not know what I am talking about. Happy thanksgiving in advance friends; I just wanted to inject some humor here...lol.
