Burgundy deal

Hola!..:-). I'm seriously loving the Spanish language these days and I'm sure I have been watching too much of "Dora" on the kid's network. I need a break from mommy life...lo.  'Thank God my girlfriends and I are planning a girls night out soon. We usually get together now and then for a dinner or movie date to chill and chit-chat and I just can't wait. I also have a friend's wedding anniversary celebration coming up this weekend so, the party season has officially started for me.

This outfit is what I wore to church last Sunday and it is burgundy overload. I got the hat over the summer and I really liked the color and considered adding it to my Christmas gift list but when I looked on the website just a few days after receiving my order in the mail, it had sold out. The leather skirt and burgundy sweater are recent addition and these Altuzarra booties are from last season. I thought at first that this monochrome look was a bit too much but I think the textures of the pieces balanced everything out.

Purple Peplum

I wore this peplum top a few Sundays ago to Church and took these pictures after a long day. I thought afterwards that I should have reserved the top for Sunday after thanksgiving because to tell you the truth; as you might know by now; peplum tops do hide all that belly fat nicely and I plan to indulge in turkey dinners this Thursday. I wish I was able to get this particular one in a grey or black color though then it would have made a great pairing with a pair of culottes and boots for the fall weather.

I got this peplum top from Venus, an online store that sells good quality and affordable clothing. I don't shop with them all the time but they do deliver their store catalogues to my house diligently. To digress, I know most people love digital stuff and online shopping just like I do and would like to do "paperless" anything but I just love fashion catalogues in print and get excited when I get a fashion catalogue in the mail. So, as I was saying, I saw this purple peplum top in a Venus Catalog and I really loved it and I went online and ordered it and the top arrived exactly the way it was shown in the catalog.

I planned to make this post very short and I am going to sign out right now but I would love to know if anyone remembers or have (has) ever ordered any item from a print (paper) catalogue before. This question does not apply to the Millennials (twentys or under twentys) who would stop by here though...lol. They certainly would not know what I am talking about. Happy thanksgiving in advance friends; I just wanted to inject some humor here...lol.

The Prints in the bucket

I put on neutrals today and accessorized with two different kinds of animal prints. I got the bold leopard prints on my scarf and snake prints on my bucket bag. I got this bag in two colors; a black one and this cream snake prints design. I have always liked cross body bags and bucket bags because they are very convenient when you are on the go especially when you are attending to little kids. This bag will certainly be in great rotation this spring and summer.

My heart goes out to the victims of the earthquake disaster in Nepal and to all the victims of the crisis in Baltimore. A lot of unrest in the world right now.

I'm glad there is not much rules to fashion these days so my leopard prints and snake prints can be "friends" in one outfit...lol. I hope everyone is doing great. Please, let's pray for the USA, Nepal and the world in general.

Comfy Formal Look

This fluid ankle pants or pajama trousers as they are sometimes called are as comfy as can be; previously worn here. They have a very casual look but still can be dressed up in a formal way. I got them from Loft last year and I have them in two colors. I wish they had them in black though and I'm actually on the look out for a black pair right now because it would be great for running errands or going on a trip.

I paired this with a fitted blazer today to achieve a formal sunday look and threw a scarf around my neck cos it is a little windy and I wanted to add a pop of color with the scarf. A colorful statement necklace can be a substitute for this scarf too; a very simple and comfy look for today. I'm looking forward to more stylings of my blazers and I have started making sketches on a journal on the different ways I can style each one that I have. I love to draw and color and really enjoy every opportunity and time I have to do it. Maybe I can share some sketches on the blog soon.

I'm already looking forward to summer when I can style this pant again. I'm thinking I can pair it with a white tee again and a denim jacket for a very casual look. What do you think about that combination?

I'm wishing everyone a great week. Thanks a lot for stopping by this space to say hi and connect. I would be stopping by your blogs too to say hi. So, just leave a comment with your link if you are visiting for the first time.

Hebrews 10:24-25New International Version (NIV)

24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Knit and Jean..

This is what I wore today to run errands around and if you think I look like I just rolled out from a time capsule; you are very right. I just brought the sixties and seventies back with this look. The pictures also give a mid century vibe...hehehe. My son took the pictures with an iPhone and I had no time and no intention to run the pictures through editing before uploading them so they are at their worst today. Also, the day was starting to get dark and we were in a hurry so we just pulled up in a parking lot and went snap-snap and continued on our way.

This knit top has been in my closet since I purchased it about three years ago from J. C. Penny and the denim's history probably dates back to the time of Adam..lol. Well, the two of them decided to pair together today and I'm well layered underneath the top; thank-you!...:-). The weather is nice enough now for dressing up without the jackets but still  chilly enough to require some inner layering so, I was not going to step out in this knit top without proper under garments as I have seen some people do recently **eyes rolling...lol.**

Well, this was just a quick post today, No time for telling long stories like I usually do. And thank God this is a blog post and not a video post or youtube post because I have totally lost my voice though I'm fully recovered from the cold I had a few days ago. See you again very soon either on your blogs or here.

Denim and Coral Casual

A beautiful weather like this makes me want to scream and shout out for joy and that is exactly what happened to me this evening. I got out of my work clothes and decked out in this denim outfit and I was ready to party!!..:-). I have a prayer meeting to attend tomorrow evening and I'm yet to pick out an outfit. It's an inter denominational women's prayer conference and I think it is very cool for women around the twin cities to get together to pray for all the stuff that is going on around us today. We all know that only God has the solution to all life's problems and when we believe and pray in one accord, there is always results.

The prediction for the weather tomorrow is excellent and its so hard to believe that we are already in fall. In previous years, we would have been walking around in jackets by now and would have also received one or two snow falls but we are not complaining. We choose to live here...:-). Everyone cannot live in California or Hawaii at the same time. Some people need to live here in Minnesota to deal with the harsh weather. One more day of beautiful weather like this means one less day of chilly, cold weather. Are you also enjoying great weather where you are?

My 4th of July

Happy Independence day America!

Hi beauties; I hope you all are having a great weekend so far. For the readers in the USA, I wish you a happy 4th weekend celebration. I started my holiday early since I have been off work since wednesday.  Yesterday was spent indoors for the most part then we went out in the evening to visit some friends and watch the fire works. As usual for me, the outfit colors for the day were white blue and red. You can never go wrong with those colors as there are so many combinations and variations you can do with it as regards styling.

The celebration continues today. It is also one of my friend's birthday today so, I will be stopping over at her place later on. I have been trying so hard not to eat too much but I enjoy the quality time I am spending with my peeps. Did you dress up in patriotic colors for the 4th? Please share…
