Mother's Day Weekend - Two

I definitely had some second thoughts about posting the second batch of my Mother's Day weekend pics mostly because the pictures did not turn out too great after all and editing could not really save them. I am still using my old camera although I got a new one already but have just been too lazy or thrifty to make the switch...:) Well,  I changed my mind and decided to post them. Fashion blogging for me is a personal style diary; a documentation of my life in relation to my faith and fashion which I want to preserve for future reference for myself and my kids. And if along the way, I meet new friends or followers so to speak who are interested in going on my fashion journey with me, then that's great!...:) It's been nice connecting with lots of other bloggers so far.

So, since this is not about showing off or teaching anyone to dress up as I always say, I'll go ahead to talk about my last Sunday's outfit which was very simple yet fun. I wore a hot pink simple cap sleeves blouse over a black lace skirt and with some statement shoes and a jacket, I was good to go. The outfit was kind of inspired by the second set in my Polyvore outfit creation from my previous post.

The weather was in the seventies and very hot so it was essential to wear light weight fabrics.` The jacket was handy because as one of my friends always say; Minnesota weather can be bi-polar. It can be warm this minute and cold the next. I had on quite a bit of jewelry here too; earrings, necklace, bracelets which is very unusual for me. I'm always excited when I'm dressed up for church and just like David said in Psalms 122, I will gladly declare;
"I am glad when they say unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord."

Thanks for stopping by and do have a wonderful and fulfilling weekend.

                                                                          Psalms 122: 1-4

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together. Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.

Mother's Day Weekend - One

I took these pictures right after a heavy dinner hence the bulging stomach...:)

On Saturday before Mother's Day, (Sunday) hubby and I went for a friend's birthday party/vows renewal. The couple celebrated and renewed 27 years of marriage and the wife/bride celebrated her fiftieth birthday. It was a fun filled night with lots of dancing and good food; yeah the food was good. The menu included rice, steak, chicken, baked potatoes, green beans, meatballs, fruit salad, vegetable salad, wine and all sorts of juice.

There was so much color around too as most of the guests were decked in colorful and beautiful attires. I wore this olive-gold sheath dress I bought from T. J Maxx a long time ago and accessorizes with wine and gold accessories. The weather was a little chilly so the jacket was very much needed to keep warm.

The pictures were taken with a camera phone so, they didn't turn out too great.

I love the heavy beading on this dress and on close up, it's actually gold and silver beading with sequins

I took spoonfuls of my food before I decided to take a pic. There is love in sharing..:)

Floral Jacket

Hi all, I hope all you beautiful ladies in the US are excited and ready for Mothers' Day tomorrow. For some ladies, it's a big event with lots of pampering and dinner dates and others just spend the day quietly. I do not know yet what group I'll fall in tomorrow but I know I'm grateful to God for his goodness in my life and making me a wife and a Mum to three beautiful Kids. Whatever is the case with you, married, single, engaged, Mum...just use the day tomorrow to thank God for the gift of life and find a way to appreciate all the dear ones around you.

Now to the outfit of the day, I finally put on the floral jacket I ordered from Forever 21 a couple of months back and blogged about here. And I'm not going to say I love it much; the colors are so bold! The jacket only cost $15.99 and since floral jackets are trendy right now, I'm glad I did not have to break the bank to achieve this look.

Since the colors in the jacket are very bold, I decided to keep everything else dark thereby allowing the jacket to stand out on its own. Although I do not like the bold florals of the jacket that much but I really do love the fabric; very soft and comfortable. I am still happy that I purchased the jacket though and I know it was a good buy. It's always nice to have a trendy piece. I do not like to be at the fore front of fashion trends and I also do not like to be the last one to get on the trend wagon. So, here is "Yay!" to scoring this trend while I explore others that I'm willing to try for this season.

Thanks so much for stopping here. Did you take a look at the Mothers' Day outfits in my previous post? Let me know what your favorite look is. I love all the three sets but I think the first set featuring the blue harem pants is my favorite. Thanks again for stopping by and for your beautiful comments.

It's Mothers' day in a few days and since it is on a Sunday as always, I am thinking of putting on that very cute outfit for a special day that can transition from the Church Service to the after Dinner Party without any fuss. So, I went to Polyvore and created these sets; The perfect Mothers' Day outfit can be the harem pants with a cute peplum blouse and a boxy jacket and statement shoes or a simple skirt and blouse with some statement sandals or even a neutral dress, shoes and bag and colorful bold jewelry. Take your pick and "Happy Mothers Day!"

My Black and White- One

Hi all, I took a few days off from the Blog world and it seems like an eternity. Social networking is definitely addictive!...:) I want to say thanks to all the lovely friends that stopped by my last post to say hi and share their thoughts and comments.  I would be stopping by your blogs very soon to say hi too.

This is my first black and white outfit for the year and since I have several combinations of this colors in my closet, I will just style and tag them in numbers as I go. This sweater and pants combination I wore to see a friend a few weeks ago is my number one. I decided to throw in the wine satin pumps to break the look and with a few accessories, the outfit was complete.

Do you guys know that it snowed in Minneapolis, Minnesota this morning, May 3rd? We had about one and a half inches of snow on the ground which melted in a few hours; thanks to the slightly warm temperature. The temps. were in the seventies last weekend and now we are back to the forties. Certainly, a roller coaster kind of weather.

Sweater: Deb Stores
White long-sleeved tee: Victoria's secret
Satin Pumps (Old): Victoria's secret
Purse and bracelets: Aldo

Have a fun and safe weekend and God bless.
