Workwear Thursday

Happy Thursday Friends; I hope everyone is doing great. These pictures were taken by my daughter with my iPhone a few weeks ago and I really liked the look although the pictures are not too clear. I have always loved blazers for the fact that they dress up and elevate any look. Black, yellow and white combo is no brainer and it looks great however you choose to combine the pieces; it's a beautiful color combination for summer too.

I like to wear heels a lot especially for corporate work wear outfits. The heels here can be switched up for flats and this work wear would still be chic and edgy. I look forward to being on your blogs soon to see all the creativity I missed while I was away from Blogsville.

Blue Lace and red maxi Skirt

Hi Friends; I hope everyone is doing great; so much is happening in this world of ours these days that is so difficult to understand. So much violence and brutality in our beloved country; the U.S.A. It was independence day/July 4th a few days ago nd this outfit is what I wore over the weekend to church. The top is a Jcrew dress which I used as a top for my maxi Chicwish skirt. Lace dresses are so chic and so, so versatile for the fact that they do double duty as tops.

There are tons of ways of styling blue, red and white for independence celebration but for this outfit, I chose to eliminate the white and wore some tan color heels instead. Some people think wearing patriotic colors to celebrate July 4th is cheesy but I think it is fun; and fun and celebration are things we all need to strive for in this world rather than all the violence and killings. My heart goes out to the families who lost loved ones. #Blacklivesmatter #Alllivesmatter

Full Maxi Skirt and off the shoulder top

Okay, I'm back with an outfit post; woot! woot!!..lol. It seems like it's been forever since I had one. Since I got busy on my Instagram, it's been a little difficult to keep up with my blog especially because I run two Instagram accounts and then, there is Polyvore too where I have been creating style boards at least two or three times a week. I'll do a different post to get you updated on my accounts and what I have been up to. Also, I made a quick trip to Africa; first time I was visiting in nearly ten years! So, you see, I have been busy..lol.

I have blogged so much about "off the shoulder tops" on here that I feel it's time I post my own look. I wore this outfit to Church last month; and since I still have lots of pictures in my archives, I'll start to blog more. The top is an old blouse I have had for years while the skirt was custom made.

I hope your week is going on great. We are at the middle of this new year that just happened a minute ago; can you imagine? (Pun intended) I hope we are all trying to look fabulous as we go through life day, by day.

Romwe - Style Inspiration

While I am still obsessed with the "off shoulder trend," I'm going to share this gorgeous look I came across on the Romwe website a few days ago. This look is perfection from head to toe and it looks modest too despite the heavily distressed denim. I purchased the grey top and received it a few days ago. For the price, the quality is not that bad. Now, I look forward to recreating the whole look.

If you want to check out this site; know that their sizes run small. I had to donate a couple of clothes I ordered from the site the first time because they didn't fit. Let me know in a comment if you are really tired of this "off-the-shoulder" trend...:-)

Shoe lovin'

G by Guess Iniko Caged lace-up Sandals

In addition to the off the shoulder top, the lace-up sandal is another big trend for this summer and they come in so many beautiful designs with pom-poms, fringe, cut-outs.. I found this beautiful army color cut-out lace-up sandals on Macys and I loved it right away. It comes in three other beautiful colors too; red, blue and wine.

I look forward to styling this beautiful pair with several outfits this summer on the Polyvore website and if you love it too, you can check it out here.
