Who wore it better?

So, I have had this animal print blouse with balloon sleeves in my closet for a while now and the reason I bought the blouse is because it was on sale at Newportnews and also the fabric is 100% silk. The blouse was catalogued as a dress online but when I checked out the length, I knew there was no way I was going to wear such a short dress. I have paired capris and shorts with it in the past and have always kept the look neutral but recently, I decided to make the outfit more interesting by adding a little bit of color to it. I paired it with a lighter color of capris and wore a pair of red shoes instead of the bronze, gold and beige shoes I have used in the past. I think I like the new look better. What do you think?

Now, who do you think wore it better?...:) Thanks so much for stopping by and see you again soon.

Green Graphics

Dress: Burlington
White Jacket:
Clutch: T.J Maxx
Shoes: Old

This green and white dress was purchased from Burlington Coat factory years ago and it's one of my converted maternity dresses. It's wrinkle free and easy to wear and on days when I desperately need  some infusion of color, it comes really handy.

Favorite Trends

Cropped Top and Print

Cropped tops and Prints are some of the trends I am loving this season however, I do think that a cropped top has an age appropriate sticker attached to it. Therefore those who are over thirty should embrace this trend with caution. Another way to take on this trend in an age appropriate way is to "fake it." Yes, I said "Fake it!"...:) The orange top above with ruched waistline is just the kind of style that mimics the cropped top. Also, since ruched tops are known to ride up, the blazer is just a necessary part of this outfit.

Another favorite print of mine for this season is the "gingham print." It is a timeless and classic pattern and getting a piece in black and white gingham would take care of two trends; first, black and white and secondly prints. A pop of color in red, gold or orange would make the outfit stand out.

Pleats are fun and combining them with fun prints like gingham takes the cuteness and fun in the outfit up a notch. For the fall, a blazer and booties are definite accessories to go with the long pleated skirt. Also, a black and white gingham piece would combine well with a piece in a strong color hue and while red is a good combination for the black and white gingham, purple and green are colors that can also complement nicely.

Black and White Four - Season's trend

Dress and Shrug: Macys (old)
Clutch: T. J. Maxx
Shoes: Qupid (Burlington)

Black and white is a trend that has come to stay at least for now and it has evolved into very beautiful shapes and patterns for fall; plaids, gingham and grids. Since I have accumulated so much black and white in my closet for years (thanks to my colorless years of fashion sense) I gladly embrace this trend. I did not want to run to the shop to buy any of the latest pattern so, I just looked in my closet and picked a pattern that imitates this new trend. This black and white skirt was bought in Macys years ago and I love the fact that I can wear it in several ways. I have worn it as a long skirt, a tube dress with a shrug as in these pictures and a flowy dress over shorts or pants. This is the reason why I love versatile pieces.

This outfit is what I can easily wear to any party or occasion and with a black blazer, I can wear it to church too. It is very appropriate for my present pregnancy condition and also age appropriate. In between, October is gradually coming to a close and November is around the corner; the season and month of thanksgiving. There is a lot of things to give thanks for no matter the negative circumstances or events that crop up in life once in a while.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your comments and thoughts. Have a great weekend and see you again soon.

Houndstooth + Pastel Pink

White tee: (Hanes) Target
Pink pleated skirt: Victoriassecret (old)
Houndstooth jacket: Dress barn
Shoes: Qupid
Clutch: T. J. Maxx

Houndstooth and pink are some of the colors and patterns popping up this fall and I'm so glad that I did not have to spend a ton getting this trend. I reached into my closet and fetched this light pink box pleat skirt I had not worn in a long time. The fabric is stretchy so it was able to fit my ever growing mid section. A white Hanes tee and a Houndstooth jacket I have had for years finished off the look. I didn't feel comfortable wearing low heeled shoes so I had to opt out for my Qupid patent heels. They are five inches high but feel comfortable like flats thanks to the two inch platform. My old camera did not do the outfit much justice and I know what I want from Santa this Christmas...:)

Enjoying Nature

Top and Pants: Neighborhood boutique (Deb)
Cardigan: Loft
Shoes: DSW

Hi everyone. As we all know; Fall is here. It is my favorite season of the year followed by Spring then Summer, then good Old Winter! I'm not so excited that the winter is around the corner even though it is a season to showcase all those fabulous fashions; boots, scarves, jackets and sweaters. I just love the beautiful and awesome colors of fall. As nature transitions and gets ready for the freezing weather, it puts in full display its greatest and most wonderful colors. The cool chilly breeze is also very bearable and the clean crispy air is just therapeutic. One of my favorite things to do at this time is to just take a walk and take it all in. I hope you are enjoying Fall wherever you are and for those who do not have the Fall season, just take some time out to take a walk while you enjoy the marvels of Nature. God made all things beautiful.

Thanks so much for reading and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

PS: I will be making some changes to the blog very soon. I'm thinking of using a new layout and would be keeping my fingers crossed on the outcome.

Straight from the Pack

Black Blazer: Old
Denim Shorts: H & M
White tee: Customink
Shoes: Steve Madden

It's graphic tee time! The weather was very much perfect today for me to wear my custom made tee I designed on Customink.com and talked about in this post here. The long-sleeved tee arrived weeks ago and I only took a peek to make sure it met my specifications. When I woke up today to a rainy and gloomy weather, I knew it was time to get the tee straight from the pack. I paired it with a black blazer over a pair of denim shorts and put on my three inch red patent Steve Madden shoes. (I have been loving my low heel shoes lately but I do miss my six inch heels.)

I want to say a big thank-you to all who stopped by my last post to say hi and I really appreciate your visit. Thanks so much for visiting and reading and have a blessed and beautiful weekend.
