Trenching...

Yay!! The snow is starting to melt and the sun is up and the temperature is going to be in the high twenties to thirties this week and that means one thing; Spring is around the corner. However, I heard there is some storm in the horizon and residents in the North East are bracing up for some blizzard. I keep them in my prayers and I pray that the storm pass away calmly.

A warm weather means colors and more colors and I decided to break out in some colors for the outfit of the day. Every item in this outfit is super old and I recovered most of them lately as I cleaned out my closet. My glossy, crinkly, leather trench coat was purchased from Chadwicks a couple of years ago and it is more of a stylish coat than a warm one. My yellow knit top and denim are old buys so, I do not even remember what store I purchased them from and I do not want to make guesses. I do remember where my shoes were purchased though!...:) I never forget that!! My pointed toe print shoes were purchased from DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) like seven or eight years ago and I was excited to read that pointed, low heeled shoes are back on the scene..**smiley face** I know where every pair of shoe in my closet was purchased. Do you remember where you purchased your clothing items or shoes if you got them like three or four years ago?...:)

I forgot to get my sun glasses and had to squint through all my shots.

My gold ear-rings were thrifted and  were a great buy.

Trench Coat: Here (but sold out)
Knit top and Denim: Old
Bag: Old
Shoes: Here
Ear-rings: thrifted

Thanks so much for reading and please join me in praying for our friends in the North East who are in the way of the storm. We need the storm to roll away calmly and peacefully. Also, as a lot of people are expected to stay home today to weather the storm; I'll say enjoy your long weekend if you live in the affected areas and do not forget or neglect to include God in your plans every day. **Kisses**

Layered in Prints

So, the weekend finally ended with all the excitement and hype of the Super bowl. I'm not much of a football fan or not into sports in general; my lazy self speaking..:) but I found it really interesting that two brothers faced each as coaches and the turn over in the game after the power surge was quite surprising. Well, I'm glad it's all over and the winners can keep glowing while the losers work on getting over the loss and brothers can go back to being brothers...:)

I picked up a copy of this week's issue of the  Sports illustrated Magazine at work today and was captivated at the article that read; "Does God care who wins the Superbowl?" I did not have time to read through the whole article but I was quite excited about it. I'm glad the writer elaborated on the idea that God does not take sides but would protect the "praying team" against all injuries and mishaps. Sometimes sports is not all about winning; the fitness or physical activity associated with the sports and it's entertainment value is what is important most times. "Sports-Fanatics" please forgive me... We all know that a lot of athletes have lost their whole career or become disabled for life due to injuries so let the prayers on the field continue. God is ever faithful to listen and answer the prayers of anyone who calls.

Back to the outfit of the day; I am wearing my most beloved print top that I talked about the first time in this post here and the comfy Victorias Secret long knit skirt that I just can't get enough of. If I had known it was going to be this warm and comfy, I would have ordered it in different colors; now it is all sold out...:((( **sniff **sniff**

This print top which is actually a dress is very versatile and I love the way it has transited beautifully from my summer wardrobe to the winter. To make it work  for the winter, I just layered it over this white tee I purchased from J. Crew a while back. I cinched a belt over my waist, threw a scarf around my neck and was good to go. You can check out the Summer look in this post here. I love it when I am able to create different looks with one clothing item in my closet. **thrifty me..Yay!!**

I apologize for the blurry pictures. I did not realize that I was running my washer and dryer until the steam blowing through the vents in the wall ruined my precious pics!

Thanks so much for reading and sharing your thoughts and comments and do enjoy the rest of the week. **Kisses**

Grey and black..

I want to thank all my new found friends in Blogs Ville who left all those wonderful comments in my last post. Blogging is much more fun when it is interactive and I must say I'm beginning to enjoy blogging a lot more. When I read through the comments in the last post, I felt like I was in some sort of Fashion party with my girlfriends and we were all chatting away about fashion...:)

So, fellow Fashionistas, what will you do if love so much color and you plan  this colorful outfit to wear for the day and then you look out the window and the snow just keeps falling non-stop? Then you wait for the next day and the day after next and the weather remains cloudy and gloomy and never clears out; do you go ahead to wear that colorful jacket and sweater you picked out or you just blend in with the weather?

Well, I would say it depends on where you are going. Sometimes, I feel like I do not want to waste that colorful outfit on a cloudy day and more so, it takes a lot of courage to keep that smile on your face the whole time when you are colorfully dressed on a cloudy day and everyone is staring at you like you are some one that just dropped from outer space...:)

Anyways, it's been snowing a lot in Minnesota lately and on the day I took these pictures it was snowing and I felt like I did not want to waste that colorful outfit. Then, I did not feel like putting the pictures on the blog and then I changed my mind...probably because I enjoyed the last post and also had a wonderful time in Church today?

Well, I just wanted to say thank you to you all by signing in and sharing these old photos. Do you see the big smile on my face?  I took some pictures after Church today but was not able to edit and upload them.

Red is in Season...

Hi beauties, this is indeed the season of love!! It is February First and I am in red! Okay, not fully in red..:) I took these pictures last Sunday before going to church and as usual it was not the outfit that was planned for the day. I had wanted to wear a khaki pant suit that had been sitting in my closet for ages and it was all ironed out and everything but just when I got out of the bathroom, I looked out the window and it was snowing hard...

So, as usual, I quickly opted for option two. If you live in a place that has such unpredictable weather as I do, you'll make your closet your favorite place in the house and would try to know every item in it just in case of such weather emergencies. And that reminds me; I'll put up a post on my organized closet soon. Since I have not been able to take pictures outdoors because of the snowy cloudy weather we have these days, I have been working on organizing my closet. You can see the last post I did on it here.

My second choice was this long knit skirt I purchased from Victoriassecret a while back. It is in this cool camo color with rubber band waist and very durable fabric. I do not remember exactly how much I paid for it but I know it sold out pretty quickly. I paired the skirt with a white turtle neck top I have owned for a while, cinched my waist with a red belt, put on my grey riding boots and donned the whole look with my red Mudd jacket..oh, I also threw a fuchsia color scarf around my neck for warmth. A clash of colors but everything synchronized in a nice way...:) Red is the color of  the month of February and instead of going out all red, I prefer to throw in dashes of the color here and there. Did you check out the date outfit collages I did in my previous post?

I just love the snow; so beautiful and perfect. How wonderful is God's creation!

Had snow flakes flying across my face and as usual, all photos go on the blog no matter how bad...:)

Here is a picture of the skirt on a model I saved from Victoriassecret's website. I'm glad I got to buy the skirt after swooning over it for a long time...:)

Thanks for visiting my blog and do leave me a comment and I'll check your blog out and like I always say; "Do not forget or neglect to add God to your plans this weekend." Kisses!!!

Summer Date Outfit with hubby

Hi beauties, Is anyone thinking of summer yet? I'm definitely thinking of it even though Spring is so so far away. Since the color of the season is emerald, I have started planning the perfect date outfit with hubby having this color in mind. I created this collage on Polyvore based on the items I already own in my closet so, I'm set and all ready to go on that perfect date!!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and do let me know what you think about this collage. Is it too colorful or too dramatic? Have a nice weekend and do not forget to include God in your plans. **Kisses!**

Color Quickie...

There are some days when even the most fearless and daring fashionista feels blue and not really in any mood to dress up and this is the time when the temptation comes to just throw on anything with the hope that no one sees you or recognizes you as you are up and about..**this happens!**

Well, for days or times like this, the best thing to do is throw in colorful accessories into an otherwise boring or muted outfit. This is the reason why I stocked up on colorful accessories in my wardrobe. They are not expensive items but are always available whenever I need them. In the collage above, the orange color accessories; the bag and belt jazz up this all black ensemble. More so, it is a very safe way of wearing orange as opposed to doing it the other way (wearing all orange) and looking like an over sized pumpkin.

It is "freeeeeezing cold" out and one of those days when I'm not inspired to dress up or take pictures. I'm presently curled up in bed under warm blankets with my kids and sipping a cup of hot cocoa. Hubby is not home so we're just chilling. My to-do list for the day includes reading some passages from my bible and doing some research on my school paper.

Thanks so much for reading and have a wonderful weekend.

Bright Sunny Day..

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and were able to spend time with family and good friends. As for me, the highlight of my weekends is when I get to go to Church on Sundays with my family and service today was so much fun. These pictures were taken a few days ago and though it was very sunny but it was freeeezing!

The pictures are not that great and I had second thoughts about sharing them on the blog but then changed my mind a few hours ago. Afterwards, the blog is a documentation of my life experience. So, it's okay to post pictures that are not that great too. Later in life when I become a professional blogger, I can share these pictures with people and tell them the importance of staying on course with their dreams and aspirations because things always get better when we are dedicated and committed to it...:)

I do not like to wear boots sometimes during the winter and in times like that, my patent heels become  my absolute must have. Their glossy finish makes them very easy to clean after each use and though they are super high (six inches heels) they actually have a good grip on snowy pavements and driveways.

I am wearing a grey knit turtle neck and a grey/black/white stripe jacket over black denim pants. The plum color bag was thrown in to add a punch of color to the entire assemble. Before I started my color makeover,
