Sweater dress + Slacks

Hi beautiful people of blogs ville. I am just going to make this post as short as I can because I got to go take care of some other stuff...:) so many things on my mind.

I am wearing one of my sweater dresses I got from Victorias Secret a couple of years back which I cinched in the waist with a dark green Merona belt from Target and some dark green slacks.

The quality of the pictures are so poor and the colors of the outfits did not pop the way it is supposed to be so, I do apologise. However, If I were a fashion stylist or expert, I would really get upset at my no-good camera but I just blog for fun and I know I can get away with some slack...hehehe..:)

Something flew past my face here and I was just wondering if it was a snow flake. The forecast says that we are going to have some more of the white, beautiful and fluffy stuff this week.

Khaki Jacket..

Hi all, "I ammmm backkkk!"...:) I hope every one is having a wonderful week so far. It was so sad to hear the news about the Connecticut shooting this morning. So many beautiful, young and innocent souls just wasted. My heart goes out to all the families that were affected by this tragedy and I pray that God would comfort and restore them. I have three young kids and I know how much joy and love these tiny souls give out as they grow and it is just so sad when any young soul pass away for any reason. This just goes to show that we need God in this nation. This is not about putting bans on guns and fire arm restrictions and all that; this is about taking America to the place it was when the founding fathers founded this nation. It is about having God as the front and center of everything. Well, this is a fashion blog and not a political blog so, I will digress at this junction and talk about my outfit..

I love fashion and if you are reading this blog right now, I am sure you do too...:) It's so relaxing when we fashion lovers look at all these fashion blogs and fashion magazines and go shopping or sometimes window shopping when we can not afford to buy anything. So, why can't some people just pick up a hobby like this that is not going to cost them much instead of getting frustrated and depressed about life and picking up guns to go and kill innocent people...oh my..I am so hurt!

I am wearing this khaki color jacket I got from Banana Republic and a back tee and black jeans. I accessorized with taupe color Steve Madden shoes and a wine color handbag. The jewelry is just minimal; just this brown and clear Lucite necklace I got from Dress barn years ago and a pair of gold ear-rings.

The weather was so so cold; do not be fooled by the smile. I took off my winter jacket and gloves for this shoot so when my fingers started to freeze, I tucked my hands inside my jacket to keep warm. Also, my block heeled shoes are all coming to use this winter. The floors and driveways are too slippery and icy for stilettos and six-inch heels and when I do wear them, I am always super-careful.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I do appreciate you reading this and I welcome your thoughts, questions and comments. Let's continue to pray for this nation. This senseless violence needs to stop. Take care and God bless. **Kisses**

Teal tweed

So, the snow storm is over and we finally get a break. It took a few days for most of the streets and highways to finally clear out of all that ice and slush from the storm and now every one can breathe a sigh of relief. It is nice that we are going to have a white Christmas though and talking of Christmas, I can't believe it is so so close...nice!

I got inspired by all these white beauty around me and decided to bring out all my white outfit; jackets, pants, tops...just name it!...:) In the past years before my color makeover, I would wear dark and grey color clothes through out the whole winter and just look as gloomy, boring and cold as the weather. However, now, I am vibrant, colorful and would remain so all through the year, the weather notwithstanding...."Yay!!"

So, I am wearing this teal tweed jacket I thrifted a couple of months ago and a teal fitted tee shirt from Talbots. By the way, you can never catch me in a loose tee unless I am in overalls painting my house or washing the floors. I just do not like loose tee shirts and I would never even wear it to the gym also. And talking about the gym, one of my things to do for the new year is to loose about ten pounds and I hope and pray I'm able to do that.

I am also wearing this white Calvin Klein slacks I got from Tj Maxx and with my teal color Jessica Simpson pointed toe pumps and my Kenneth Cole Reaction tote, I was ready to face the cold gloomy weather.

Oh, did I mention my turquoise ear-rings? They are my number one color accessories because I reach for them first whenever I need to add some pop of color to any outfit. Watch out! you are going to be seeing more of these ear-rings on this blog...hehehe..:) I decided to do without a necklace because I felt a lot was already going on with my teal tee and jacket, shoes and ear-rings.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and have a beautiful and blessed week ahead.

White, peach and a hint of leopard

So, it's been snowing for hours now in the twin cities and there is so much excitement in the air. The kids are the most excited because they now have enough snow to make snow men and snow angels. I woke up to the noise of plows and shovels this morning and we have plowed our drive way three times in between since the snow started yesterday morning. It's starting to taper off anyway and we might just need to do one more plowing before it is all said and done.

So, I decided to do another color burst today and I did a combination of white, peach and leopard. However, my peach Talbot's pants look pink in the pictures probably in an attempt to match my light pink Prada hand bag. Besides, I totally enjoyed taking these pictures in the snow. I love the way the snow flakes kept falling on my face and though they make the pics blurry, I'm glad I was able to capture the moment. And if you are someone like me who just loves nature, you really will not mind...:)

I usually like to wear block heeled shoes when it snows but could not resist this six-inch-leopard pumps from Victoriassecret.

I am wishing you all a lovely and productive week ahead. **Cheers**

Hot Pink in the Snow

Hi alI all, the heavens opened today and the Snow came pouring!! It was the third snow fall for the season and just at the time when everyone was starting to wonder if Winter was ever going to appear this year, we had a triple dose of the white, beautiful, treasure from the heavens. I know it is a difficult commute when you have to travel on it and it does get slushy and muddy when it starts to melt but it is still a beauty to behold. I enjoyed the flakes flying across my face as I posed in my driveway.

This is what I wore today for service. It is a long floral dress in sheer fabric I got from Venus.com and it is actually a Summer dress but also suitable for the Winter because it allows for lots of layering underneath without any show of "bulkiness."

I threw this hot pink or fuchsia blazer I recently got from the thrift store over my maxi dress and with a few accessories and my Kenneth Cole Reaction tote, I was good to go. The weather was in the thirties and not extremely cold so, I ditched the Winter coat.

The pose in this picture was not planned at all; I actually tripped and fell and it gave me a good laugh. After having so many falls in the snow over the years, I perfected the art of falling on my knees and my hands..:)

I thought I should have worn one of my black Knee boots but the weather was not so cold like I said and I did not really think it was the most appropriate for my sheer maxi dress.

Block heel shoes are the most suitable for a snowy day because they have a better grip on the snow than the stiletto heels. Also, I decided to wear a four-inch-heel shoes as opposed to my five inches and up. These Nine West pumps were my first choice.

I hope you all are enjoying the weekend and also enjoying the weather wherever you are right now. Thanks so much for reading and coming with me on my amazing journey of "Color Makeover."

Black, white, mint and brr...rrrrr

Hi beauties, I feel like I have been out from Blogs Ville for a long long time. I have been so busy with finals coming up in a few days and all the preparation for the holidays coming up that includes shopping and planning. Much of my planning have actually been centered on redecorating some parts of my home. The places that are most affected are my bathrooms, laundry room and dinning room. I enjoy decorating and having three bathrooms in a six bedroom house is a huge blessing to me...:)

Also, I had some beauty issues; had a lot of breakouts on my face which usually happens sometimes when I am stressed out. The beauty products I usually resort to are Mary-Kay and Herbal Life products and sometimes, I just do nothing...:) Well, I am okay now and black to blogging!! "Yay!!"

The weather has also been very cold as you can tell from the title of this post. Old Man Winter is finally here..

Did I tell you this post was going to be picture over load? Well, you know now. I did not have time to edit the pictures and I did not feel like leaving out any of them. More so, let's just say I love all that snow I see in the background. Yeah, fresh snow is so beautiful but brr...rrr

Previously before I started my blog and had a color makeover, I would have just been content with wearing the staple black, white and grey assemble in this outfit and that would have been it. However, I decided to throw in the mint and teal colors with the earrings, DIY bracelet and bag and I absolutely love how it turned out.

It was so cold and my exposed hands were starting to get numb so, I made an attempt at doing some power walking to keep the cold out!...:)

I got to go back to my chores now. Enjoy your weekend and thanks a lot for stopping by my blog. Also, remember that knowing God is the answer to all life's problems. **Kisses**

Cobalt and black and December First!

Waoh! It's hard to believe that it's December 1st and we are in the last month of the year. Each time I make this statement, I always follow it by this line; "I can remember vividly everything that happened in the previous year like it happened yesterday!" Oh my...well, so long as everything is going as planned and we are all making progress towards achieving our dreams, we'll just take each day as it comes allowing God to take total control of all our situation. And the way we can do this is to believe and trust in him. We also have to maintain contact with him by continually praying and giving him the worship that he deserves.

It's getting very cold now in the twin cities and the time for layering has come; sweaters, snoods, scarves, jackets, boots, name it. However, I am sad to say that I have broken my word on keeping a "shopping freeze" for a year. I had promised myself I was not going to shop or purchase any item of clothing for one full year but...

I took a trip to the thrift store a few weeks ago to look for some items that I can use to decorate my bathroom and found myself looking at the jacket and blazers that were on display and there was a green suede blazer and a tweed blazer that I just could not resist. Do you know that suede is gradually coming back as a trend on the runway and did I mention that these blazers were $6.99 each?...:) Well, I did get them and I went back a few days ago and also saw a neat blazer in hot pink. Now, I can say that I have blazers and jackets in almost every color; black, white, khaki, green, pink, brown...just name it. You need to take a trip to the thrift store sometimes if you need vintage blazers without breaking the bank and you can pay some extra cash to have them dry-cleaned and they are good to go. Also there are great items for decor in the thrift stores too and if you are a good shopper, you will find unique items and knick knacks that will make your guests to ask you for shopping secrets. I have three bathrooms in my house and since I like to change out my decor seasonally, I have found great bargain at the thrift stores. "Recycling everyone?"

My love for color continues and these cobalt blue items; my shoes and fitted tee took this outfit up a notch. The scarf ties everything together and I am all warm and ready to go.

Thanks so much for reading my blog and I do enjoy getting your thoughts and feed backs. Take care and **Peace!**
