How I styled my Christmas Sweater

Hi Friends, I hope the week is going great so far. I had a bit of technical glitch on the blog that I just found out a few hours ago. I wrote and scheduled my Monday post last week hoping that it went live on Monday morning but was surprised when I logged in today and found out that the post did not publish and I had to publish it manually today. So, if you stopped by my blog yesterday and did not see any post for Monday, I apologize. I did some investigation and I found out that it was my own error; I scheduled the post without hitting the "publish button" so it remained as a draft instead of "auto-publish." If you've noticed, I have published a post every day for the past months and I also have posts scheduled every day for the rest of the year. I do not have any sponsored posts or campaigns on my blog presently; all my outfits are from my own closet so, I can publish my posts any time even if I have to do it retrospectively. Sponsored posts usually go with schedules and deadlines which can be just as hectic as having a regular job sometimes. My blog is my personal style diary and I do everything at my own pace which I totally love and enjoy. Thank you so much for your readership and support on here. I don't know if I can still do daily blog posts next year but we'll see how it goes...

Now, unto my outfit; I don't know how the ugly Christmas sweater tradition started styled but I styled my ugly Christmas sweater my own way by pairing this embellished cable knit sweater with a pleated maxi skirt. The sweater which is a plus size thrifted piece, is an old item from my closet. The sweater has a metallic shimmer to it and has beautiful pearls and sequins embellished on the front. I call it my ugly sweater because it is quite old and worn and shapeless. The pleated skirt was custom made by me; I got the pleated fabric from the fabric store and had a seamstress make it for me a couple of summers ago. I got the graphics LOVE embellished clutch from Ebay and it adds colors and textures to my monochrome look. The clutch is a dupe of the original Andy Rainbow Love Clutch which sold for close to $750. Check it out here and here and here. Sometimes, I have mixed feelings about buying designer inspired pieces or dupes but if you look at it a different way, several low end stores like Asos, Zara, Forever 21 and H&M do it all the time. The high end designers come out with original pieces and designs and the inspired pieces and designs hit the lower end stores soon after. Ali Express is another website where you can find lots of dupe or inspired accessories. I'll take a closer look at this shopping trend and blog about my own opinion on the ethics of fashion at a later time. For now,  take your pick and shop wisely and responsibly. I completed my look with glitter ankle boots which I talked about in my previous Post here. Thank you so much for reading.
