Duo toned

Sweater: Forever 21
Pants and Scarf: Target
Jacket: Old
Shoes: Neighborhood boutique

The weather was in the thirties today and very cold but it actually felt quite nice later in the evening. I went out briefly outdoors to catch some fresh air and was actually surprised that I survived in my ankle pants. Weeks ago, I would have died of hypothermia! I wish the temps would get better though because we are all tired of the cold already. The duo toned sweater I am wearing was purchased from Forever 21 and I talked about it in this post here. I'm not so much a fan of graphic sweaters no matter how trendy they might be but I do like graphic tees so this duo toned purplish and red sweater is quite up my alley. Right now, I'm trying to put together my outfit for Church tomorrow and I pray that the weather is much more bearable than it is right now. The weather forecasts says it will be in the single digits tomorrow but I believe in Miracles.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Stylishly Red

A red full skirt and white cropped top accessorized with neutral color accessories is the way to go for an outdoor event in the month of February when the weather is friendly. When the weather is not, the brown sandals can be replaced with a pair of knee high boots and long sleeve sweater top.

A black sleeveless peplum top and bold red pants can make a statement any day. Again in cold winter season, the louboutins can be switched out for a pair of cute black booties.

You can never go wrong with a red dress and these teal and gold accessories would go a long way in elevating the status of the dress from plain to edgy to classy.

Tribal Blue

Blue tribal gown: custom made
Bag: Random Purchase
Shoes: DSW
Cobalt blue pants: Neighborhood Boutique

I hope everyone is happy and well...:-) These are the pictures of the outfit I wore to church last Sunday; a long gown made from African tie and dye fabric. It's a gown I have had in the closet for a couple of years now but only get to wear once in a while. It usually comes in handy in the winter time; in sub degree temperatures where I get to layer underneath in order to keep warm. In the past, I would wear dark tights or leggings underneath but this time, I decided to wear my cobalt blue denim pants underneath. Since the gown is pretty long, the pants was not obvious but whenever I picked up the gown, the blue color denim pants peeked through; surely a great way to take my colored denim for a test drive.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Finally in the Game..

Yeah, I'm finally in the game! but I'm not talking about the Super-bowl or any game of that sort though the Super bowl is tomorrow. I am talking about the "Colored Pants game." I know the colored pant trend is almost over or totally over already but it is never too late to join the trend. I acquired these colored gems; red, purple, mustard, green and cobalt blue last Summer and I can't wait for Spring to get here already!!...:-)

Before infusing this much color into my wardrobe, I used to tread gently by wearing neutral and warm tone colors like grey, black, brown and tan and sometimes, pastel color like peach. However, I kind of liked the colorful pant trend as soon as it came on the scene but I felt most of the colors out there were a little too vibrant and more appropriate for teens. Somehow, I gradually warmed up to the trend...:-)

So now, that I have gotten these vibrant hue clothing items on my hands, the next thing to do is to think of creative, fun and matured way of styling them. I know I like to look young just like everyone else but I do not want to be mistaken for a teen when I wear my vibrant hues. Being age appropriate  as a young confident woman in her thirties is very crucial in this game!...:-) Now, I got to go into my closet to do some styling. Also, I might not be able to wait for Spring to get here and might just wear one of these to Church tomorrow. Disclaimer: I usually do not wear denim to Church on Sundays but I think I have a cool idea for one of these cuties...:-) (More so, I would like to start posting pictures of my Sunday outfits on the blog). I'm thinking of wearing the cobalt blue denim pants tomorrow. For someone who did not like colorful denim at first, this is a very bold step. So, watch out for my Sunday outfit in my next post. Do you like or own colorful denim?

Hi Everyone, I hope we are all doing well and keeping warm. I can't wait for Spring to get here! 'totally tired of the snow and cold already and certainly inconvenienced by all the constant layering of clothes just to go outdoors for even a few minutes.

I have never been a hat lady but would wear a beanie now and then if there is need to do so under sub zero temperatures. I have however admired classy and colorful floppy and fedora hats when I see them and I have equally lifted my hats off...:-) to those who are able to pull off wearing a cute hat. I'm currently thinking it is time to pick up a cute pretty hat and though I do not usually wear hats to church, I might just try one on and debut it one of these Sundays...:)

Are you a hat lady? And what are your preferences; fedora, floppy, beanies or baseball hats? Waiting to hear your thoughts.....
