Simple Work Chic..

Yeah, I have on a new- hair do. It is short and feels really comfortable in this summer heat. I have done so much stuff to my hair in the last few years which includes having dreads for almost four years. I actually used my dreadlocks for my wedding (dressed up really nice, put up in pony tail for the ceremony and let loose for the reception) amidst pleas by some family members to get something more bridal..:) You can see some wedding pictures here... I took it of when I was pregnant with my first child and I am seriously thinking of having it done again. Right now, I just wear wigs and weaves and occasional braids. I kind of like this new look but also miss my long weave...Anyway, enough about my hair. Let's talk about my outfit...:)

I am wearing this simple flared A-line skirt that was custom made for me by my lovely seamstress. I found the fabric at the fabric store and really liked the dark green color and the damask-floral pattern which is not obvious from these pics. I also like that the skirt is flared and I accessorized it with a DIY belt I used to wear with my denim pants but now use with this skirt. I am wearing a cream color sheer blouse I have had for ages..

Cream color sheer blouse is random (old)

Skirt is custom made and chain belt is DIY

Handbag is random..

Black Patent pumps are from Quipid.

Necklace is thrifted...

Ring is from Burlington Coat factory.

Damask Floral pattern on skirt is not so obvious...

Have a wonderful week everyone...the week is almost coming to its end and I am looking forward to it. Always remember to count your blessings. We feel sad and depressed a lot of times because we never pause to count our blessings. All we see are those wonderful things and opportunities that never happened. Well, what about the ones that did?...:) See you again soon. **Kisses!!**

The little red dress...

Hi beautiful readers..this is what I wore to church today; "a cute little structured sleeves red dress." I thought it was a nice finale to the independence week to put on something red to further the sense of patriotism. I was so excited when I bought this dress for under $20.00 at Burlington Coat factory. It was missing the original belt that came with it and might be the reason it ended up on the clearance rack. I liked the shade of red and the structure of the dress and not daunted by the missing belt, I snatched up the good deal...:) I went ahead and got my own belt for the dress, added some other accessories and vio la!!...:)

Dress: Burlington Coat factory
Handbag: Jessica Simpson
Black patent pumps: Quipid
Necklace and bracelet: Gifted
Belt: Target Stores
Ring: Random

I wish everyone a lovely week. Thanks for visiting my blog and leave comments and questions if you want. Remember the world is a better place with love but the greatest love of all is the gift of resurrection of his son that God gave to us. We only need to believe...:) **kisses**

Blue, White and...Wine!!

Still in the spirit of "Independence," I will share with you what I wore to school this morning. Yeah, I take classes on Saturdays and my summer is not all fun because I have to spend part of my time studying but it's all good!**smiles**

Now back to my outfit, what I wore today is what I originally planned to wear on independence day; July 4th before I switched it to the white dress.  I did some styling modification and changed my blouse and shoes from red to wine. Do you know now why I said the outfit was going to be "cheesy?" Can you imagine this outfit as blue, white (necklace) and red instead of the blue, white and wine I wore here? Maybe it would not have been so cheesy after all...I'll save it for next year...:)"Yea!!!" to being patriotic!

Wine blouse and computer tote from TJ Maxx stores..

My bracelet is from Target Stores

My skirt is custom made; I got the fabric from the fabric store and my seamstress made it.

I usually like my skirts flared but would wear pencil skirts once in a while...

Earrings and Necklace were thrifted...

I wore this skirt in a previous post.

My wine color front-knot Guess heels are really old. I purchased them from Designer Shoe Wearhouse DSW a long time ago.

I hope you all are having a nice time and thanks for visiting my blog. Like I would always say, "I'll like to share my faith with you." Have a wonderful weekend and take a minute to give God praise for his goodness. We should always count every blessings...:)

Happy 4th...

Hi Friends, "Happy 4th of July." We thank God for freedom. I planned on putting on a really "cheesy" oufit today; you know the one that is similar to wearing the American flag with all those blue, red and white colors? **Hehehehe**...:) I really wanted to put some humor in my blog...**smiling,** Well, I changed my mind at the last minute and decided to go with something classy and elegant. This is my fourth of July outfit.

                                                                  Sneak Peek...

                                                        Peek!  Peek!! Peek a booooo!!!

`

I am wearing an off-white sheath dress that I have had for a long time with a multicolor belt I got from the thrift store. The plan for today was for my family to go to the lake with another family friend of ours and their kids. We had planned to have a nice picnic with lots of food and also play some games but at the last minute plans were changed due to the execessive heat.

We had to move the party indoors because of 99 degrees temperature and the steamy and humid weather. It was nice to really chill indoors in an air conditioned enviroment. We did music rehearsal for church, listened to some music, ate and just had some fun. I left my friends to quickly take some pics outdoors.

I do not know what happened to this pic but I kind of liked the close-up.

My bracelet and rings were purchased at Burlington Coat Factory and my nude clutch and Steve Madden Pumps were purchased at TJ Maxx.

Like I said; before picking this dress, I debated on wearing a red sheath dress, a blue wrap dress and my cheesy outfit which was a blouse and skirt combo..but this dress worn the competition...:) and I am sure it is because "white" is the color of the season..

My sunglasses are from Target Stores

Now back to "Freedom," Isn't it nice to be free? Just as I will always share my faith with you on my blog, I want you to know that: the freedom from God through his son Jesus Christ is the greatest freedom of all. And the grace that we received through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the sweetest thing ever. We are free! Yes, we are free indeed!! Christians rock!!!

Yellow Floral...

Hi Readers, I hope you all are having an amazing week so far. This is what I wore to church last Sunday. Blazers are out of my alley for now because summer is officially here and there is this heat wave that is currently spreading through the US. I just had to rearrange my closet and all my sheer blouses and skirts are  front and center right now peeking at me each time I walk into my closet. This floral sheer blouse with a straight black skirt was the winning outfit of the day..**smiles**

The light weight fabric of the blouse and skirt is very hot-weather appropriate

I decided to add a pop of color with my yellow pumps which are super-super comfy!!

I'm not really into make-up so, it was really nice to go very light due to the very hot weather..

Minimal accessories: A brown clutch, a gold toned chunky bracelet and an orange color ring to accentuate the yellow and orange floral piece on my pumps which is why I titled this post; "Yellow Floral."

A very simple look I think...

I really like the neck-line of this blouse..

My floral sheer blouse and skirt were purchased a long time ago and I do not really remember what store I got them from but I think it might be TJ Maxx because most of my blouses were purchased there.  I bought my yellow pumps from a bridal shop in my neighborhood which has since moved to a different location. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are enjoying the new week and month so far. It's July 4th tomorrow and I have this "cheesy" flag inspired outfit I planned to wear for the day...:)

See you soon. However, I will not say goodbye without sharing a bit of my faith with you. "I love you all my readers but God loves you most!!" **Kissess**

Style-Cue

Shoes! Shoes!! and more...Prints!!!

As we all know, shoes complete every outfit and they have been coming in very fabulous designs and heel length lately. One of the latest trend is the print. It could be leopard print or zebra print; whatever print they might be, they can be real cute when styled nicely with any gorgeous outfit. Here are a few of some gorgeous pairs I really like.

Leopard prints and Zebra prints pumps by Colin Stuart from Victoriassecret.com
originally $98.00 now $59.99

The print pumps are part of the new Super Model pumps by Colin Stuart for Victorias Secret.

Colin Stuart Peep-toe platform originally $78.00 now $49.99

Charlotte Olympia leopard print pumps

Charlotte Olympia Leopard print Pumps $975

Multi color wedge sandal from Victoriassecret.com
Steven by Steve madden nock out pump previously $199.95 now $99.90 (50% off)

Enzo Angiolini Tolten Slingback pump $99.95 Nordstrom.com

Sam Edelman Evelyn Pump previously $134.95 now $66.90 (50% off)

I already own a neat collection of shoes which also include some prints in slingbacks and sandals. So, I think I am more interested in the Victoriassecret supermodel print pumps. They look super cool and the contrast color gives it a bit of an edge. Aside from having good quality, Victoriassecret shoes are very affordable, trendy and comfortable. There are various other designs out there that are great too but a lot of them are above budget right now and most of them are pointed and I really do not feel comfortable in pointed toe heels! They are super uncomfortable for me. I will have my platform pumps any day because they are super comfy...:)
Below are pictures of my messy closet with my shoe collection taken months back and it has certainly grown since then. I will put up more pictures when everything is arranged and more organized. Happy Shoe shopping but let's always remember ladies that there is more to this life other than shoes. Jesus is the answer to every life's problem.
