Second Quarter Summary

Hi Friends, this is a quick summary of the outfits I wore in the second quarter of the year; of course I wore more outfits but this are the ones I was able to take pictures of. My favorite outfit for the season is this Chicwish dress I am wearing here; It is clearly the winner. I love it so much that I wore it twice within a week. I wore it to church last week and to a wedding yesterday after some spot cleaning. The only thing I did different was that I cinched my waist with a belt and this brought the fullness down a bit and also helped to define the waistline. The prints and style of the dress make it so perfect for weddings and other formal events.

God has been good to me all these past months and I just give him praise. Everyone in my home is healthy and well and we are excited for the kids going back to school. If there is any outfit post you are interested in below, just click on the number beneath the pic.

Casual Geometric

Happy Saturday friends; I am getting ready to attend a friend's wedding this morning but wanted to publish this post quickly. I took the kids to the park yesterday and wore this casual outfit. The Creation of the Seasons

1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

6 And God said, “Let there be an expanse[a] in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” 7 And God made[b] the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. Chevron Prints and White Pumps

Did I hear someone say color and stripes??? Yeah, that is what is going on here in my neck of the woods. I got this dress from Target about two summers ago and now that the shopping ban is still on over here, it's time to start throwing on all those pieces that were forgotten in all corners of the closet. I loved this dress when I saw it on the rack because of the chevron stripes and its beautiful color but I did not really like the fact that it is sleeveless and short. I knew I could always wear a jacket or cardigan over it to cover my huge arms so I got it anyway but just abandoned it in the closet...:-).

Fast forward to "now" and this little dress and I just discovered ourselves again...:-). I am confident enough now to embrace all my curves and flaws so the huge arms do not matter anymore and as for the short length, I just wore a pair of navy shorts underneath like I always do when I am wearing a very short dress. It's all about the white pumps these days so, I accessorized the dress with this pair from heels.com and my navy blue bucket bag. This white pumps was purchased when I realized that the other pair I blogged about here is a little dated. I'll still wear the cap toed ones now and then though. It all makes for an interesting shoe collection.

Where would I go in an outfit like this? 'visit friends and family and to take the kids out, I would just switch out the heels for a white pair of flats. I'll keep digging in the closets in order to recover all the lost and forgotten treasures. Did you recently buy a pair of white heels? 'or white heels are just not your thing?

Graphic tee + Gingham

Hi Friends; first of all, I want to say a big thank-you to all of you who stopped by to send me good wishes on my recent outfit post when I shared the mishap that happened in my home. Thank God my son is okay now and though we are still keeping a close eye on him, we believe that he is well and that God delivered us from a major mishap. We are all so careful now more than ever when we use the stairs; my house is three levels high and with very high ceilings so our staircases are pretty long.

Another good thing that came out of the mishap was "instant fitness." I stayed up the whole saturday night pacing up and down for most of the time and my body reacted to the unplanned exercise. I think I might have lost about five pounds from the stress because everyone around me noticed and told me so before I confirmed it on my scale.

It's been a little brisk in Minneapolis the last couple of days especially in the mornings and it did get brisk enough to require a sweater. I decided it was a good day yesterday to put on this graphic long sleeve tee I bought a few months back and blogged about here. I just love the message; such a sweet reminder on the importance of prayers.  I paired it with this gingham pant I purchased from Loft last summer which is currently on sale here  and I finished the look with a grey bag and this black, thick, ankle strap pumps. I tried to add some color to the outfit with my red lips but I do not think I was able to pull it off...:-).

Did you notice that this pumps are identical to the silver ones I wore in my last post? They were on sale at Victoriassecret website last summer and I decided to get the two pairs. I like the unique bold, ankle strap and the fact that they are detachable too. It's always great to have versatile pieces in our closets.
