Oh Summer..

Yeah, the summer is gradually coming to an end and though I'll love to see it go, I'm excited to welcome my favorite season of the year, fall.  These are some pictures I took when the family and I went to the lake sometime this summer. In Minnesota, we only have artificial beaches and thousands of lakes and that is why the state is known as a "land of ten thousand lakes."

I picked my outfit based on the polyvore set that I created and blogged about here and I must say it was fun recreating the outfit. I did not get in the water though so I could not post pictures of me in a bright red bathing suit...:-) maybe some other time...We had a great barbecue with our friends and the kids and hubby got in the water for some fun and played some games. I just chatted with my girlfriends from church about funny lady's stuff and what not...:-).

I hope you are still having great fun and enjoying the sun. Have you made any trip to the pool or beach yet this summer? I know some of you have swimming pools in your yard..**batting my eyelids in envy..:-)** It's always great to take time out to enjoy family and friends and great food.

Pink + Floral

Happy Monday friends; this is the outfit I wore to church yesterday and it is from deep in the closet. At first I thought the outfit is too old to be posted on the blog but then I was like "Hey! I am wearing it right?" If I wear the clothes and I am not  embarrassed  to be seen in them, then they can be up
on the blog. I know most times, fashion bloggers only want to post the best pics or outfits on the blog but we live in a real world and not online so, let's keep it real...:-). So, if you see me in an old tee and faded denim running errands at the store in Minneapolis, do not doubt that it is me. Just walk up and say hi...:-).

Besides, fashion is revolving a lot these days; all those floral midi skirts from Mom's closet in the  seventies and eighties can still look glam today and let's not forget about the Mom's jeans or bell bottoms (flared jeans) "yay or nay?"

Shoelovin'

Liliana Plaid Pumps

Happy Friday friends; I was surfing the web recently and discovered this beautiful plaid pump from Liliana. It was my first encounter/knowledge of this upcoming shoe store based in California and after browsing their site, I can tell that they are unto something; their shoes are pretty and affordable.

This pretty, quality pumps can make a huge statement for fall and it is one way of adding plaid patterns to your closet. Since the shoes are so affordable, I ordered a pair right away and my package came yesterday. I was so anxious to check the quality of the shoes that I almost snatched the box from the delivery man...:-). I can tell you that the quality, and craftsmanship of this shoe is great and if you like pretty shoes like I do and you want to add a great pair to your closet for fall, check it out.

Orange Overdose

A very, very rainy day in the twin cities today and to tell you the truth, I hate it when it rains on sundays. It can be so discouraging because the temptation to put on some warm socks and snuggle under the blankets as opposed to going to church is very great. The temptation was great this morning too and the family and I ended up late for church but I am glad we made the attempt rain or not.

This orange vest I ordered a few weeks ago, arrived a couple of days ago so I decided to wear it today. I like the structured cut and the great orange color; this is such a versatile piece for any closet. When my shopping freeze is over, I hope they'll still have this cute color block one in my size. My pictures are not great as usual and I apologize. My son snapped the pictures with my phone and being a cloudy day, they did not come out as nice. I have been putting off getting a new camera because I did not want to resort to using the tripod again; (it can be a hassle sometimes) and I do not plan to entrust my young son with a DSLR just yet and hubby is always busy. However, I'll just go on and get it because I know blogging is here to stay. I'm too much of an addict now to quit...:-).

What about you friends; do you sometimes feel like you are addicted to blogging? I know I am and I'm not looking for no suppressant or antidote to blogging..hehehe...:-). I pray that God gives me the grace to be addicted to his word too. I want to be able to read and study my bible everyday because God's word is a powerful tool for every day living.

Stripes, white, black and color at my local Target.

Here

**Oooohhh Lala** I did say I was on a shopping freeze in my last post right?  Well, eeemmm **clears throat**....:-). I took a trip to my local Target store yesterday to buy some toiletries and then wandered around a little bit because the store was looking so colorful and pretty. Then, I spotted some cute pieces on the clearance racks here and there and before I knew it, some items were in my cart. There were lots of cute pencil skirts, stripped tops and colorful summer blouses and tops every where; a lady could not resist...:-). I picked up some cute bathing suits for the kids too because they needed some new ones. The summer is almost over but we intend to enjoy as much sun and water as we can before the cold weather comes upon us.

Now, I'm going to make a few more trips to Target for the school supplies because those "Back to School sales" are on already..**wish me luck..:-)..** I might just talk hubby into doing the back to school shopping this time so a lady does not have to be tempted yet again. I hope you all are doing great? I'm looking forward to posting some of the recent items I got from Target on the blog. I love you for stopping by.

Mint Pleats

Happy Monday Friends and happy new month; it's so surreal that we are in August already. I thank God for his protection and mercies. I had a wonderful time in church on Sunday. We spent over an hour just praying and worshipping. Prayers are such important elements in the life of a christian. I took these pictures right after church and that explains why I was looking a little tired.

I love this mint color skirt for summer because of the light fabric and the lovely mint color. I purchased it a couple of summers ago from Victorias Secret and talking about Victorias Secret, I wonder what is going on over at that website these days; it seems like they have closed shop in regard to summer clothing and shoes. All they have for sale now are just winter clothing and shoes all year round. It used to be one of my favorite stores to shop online.

I'm on a temporary shopping freeze friends...:-). Yep! I do not know how long it is going to be for but I know I just have to do it. From now on, I am going to start doing my best with styling all the pieces I have in my closet.

What about you? Are you making any major decision regarding the rest of the year? Are you still upholding those new year resolutions? I wish you all of God's blessings in the new month.

Stripes and white

Happy Friday friends; I hope the weather is great wherever you are. My summer is going great so far. I went on a playdate with my friends today to a park that has a splash pad for the kids to play and splash around in and it was so much fun. I threw on this ensemble last minute cos I did not have enough time to sort my laundry. My initial plan was to put on a pair of denim bermuda shorts but my shorts was MIA and after scrambling through a pile of laundry I opted for this white capris. White clothing might not be the best when there is a combination of kids and water parks but hey! it's summer...:-).

As always, I keep a pair of flats in the car and today, I switched into a pair of flip-flops when I got to the water park. I never really liked Birkenstocks but I'm starting to change my mind about it; It's a very cute alternative to wearing flip-flops. I'm loving this animal print option here. I shared a couple of pics from the outing on my instagram and my handle is; @beautyojo.

I have an event to attend tomorrow; a friend of mine is organizing a party for friends and I haven't even picked an outfit yet. How come ladies have closets full of clothes and yet face the dilemma of picking an outfit to wear to an event? I'm still trying to figure that out but I also know that having a larger closet where my clothes can be all organized and laid out would help out a lot. What are your tricks to getting ready for events?
