Blog- Anniversary

Hi Everyone, it's finally been a year since I created my blog and it has been an amazing journey. The purpose of setting up this blog has been met to a large extent and I'm excited to say that I have a very colorful closet now. I have also picked up styling tips here and there from other bloggers and the interaction has been so much fun.

I am still thinking about what I'll like to do for a giveaway and I'll make that known as soon as I get wind of it. Below are some pictures that I have posted on this blog so far and I know there is a lot more creative energy ready to burst forth!...:)

Enjoy the pictures below and like I always say; I am not a stylist or a professional blogger. I just blog for fun. So, bear with me...:)

Cobalt in the Snow...

Hi, all, it's my blog anniversary today and I just want to say that I'm really excited. However, I have not been able to take new pictures because the weather has been gloomy most of the time and I'm somewhat bored of pictures with snowy backgrounds. These pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago on my way to church. It was snowing hard and windy at the same and it's the reason why the pictures look very cloudy plus my camera is not too good.

The only color that shines through in the background is my cobalt blue skirt which I purchased from a neighborhood boutique at a ridiculously low price. Since the color of the skirt already pops, I decided to make the other items black and put on a black turtle neck top and a black jacket. The weather was freeezzzing; don't be deceived by the smile. My hands were almost numb by the time I got back in the car. I'm glad I got the pics and though they are not perfect, I thought I'll share them all the same.

Did I mention that 98% of the pictures on my blog are taken by me using the self timer on my camera and a tripod stand? Sometimes I use my car as a tripod too....:) All in the name of leaving my footprints in history and in the cyberworld...lol. My future grand kids would have some fun with this blog; I can tell. And I do not know why I have been musing a lot about the future lately. I guess my blog turning one reminds me that I'm getting old too.

So long...

It was great excitement when the first white light flakes
blew right by my face
The chill increased as the day decreased and the larger the amount, the bigger the flakes
I watched the pretty sight but could not play

Now I am tired and can wait but no more
I long for the longer days and the sun to come on
I wish for the birds to chirp and dance in the trees
I want to smell the fresh new grass again please

I am ready for another beginning
When all the fun keeps increasing
When the children under the sun can play
And the grown ups long for their turn to laze

I got nothing more to say now
I just lay all my thoughts down
So long Old Man Winter
HELLO, Miss Spring

I think I must have mentioned a hundred times on this blog (exaggeration...:)) that I love to write and draw and I actually did a lot of it in my younger years. I made comic books with beautiful and colorful illustrations and interesting stories to go with them. I smile whenever I come across some of my unfinished projects lying around somewhere in the house. It was even a great delight when I stumbled on my tools a few weeks ago as I organized my closet; stash of color pencils, erasers and sharpeners that got me excited for a minute.

I know I am too busy these days to sit down to write or draw the way I used to but I'm glad I have got my blog and writing blog posts gives me great pleasure too. I do hope you enjoyed my poetic attribute to the weather. I'm not so great at writing poetry but I do enjoy scribbling them once in a while..

Okay, I have to stop rambling for now and thanks so much for reading...but did you notice my neighbors still got Christmas decor in their yards in the background? It's March and Christmas was like over two months ago if I remember?...:) Well, I hope they'll take them out now that the weather has started to warm up. And I hope the heap of snow on my driveway would start to melt. I'm beginning to dream that I live in Aspen. See you soon. My blog turns one tomorrow...

Grey but not Grey..

Hi beauties; I hope everyone is doing great and still keeping warm. I'm trying to do that while I count the days on my fingers. Hurray to March 1st! The year is at it again.

This grey and white striped top is one of my versatile pieces for the time of the year when it starts to warm up and I just love the way it is loose and still feels fitted at the same time. I paired it with my old black denim pant which I have really abused this winter.:) I'm now on the look out for another pair.

I noticed the clash between my gold-toned bracelet and the hardware on my bag when I was uploading this pictures and I just realized now that I do not own silver toned bracelet. I have to add that to my shopping list.

Although my outfit is in dark tones, it does not reflect my mood. I'm all hyped up and excited and enjoying life in general. When you believe in God and trust him to take care of any situation, this is the attitude you will adopt at all times.

From Polyvore to Myworld

I just love Polyvore and I wonder why I never signed unto it sooner. It's so much fun creating outfits out of the endless items available on the site. Another thing I love doing is putting outfits together and hanging them out on my deck and taking pictures of them; kind of like the fashion/style boards that other people do. I think I would like to get a mannequin later on that I can glam up whenever I want just like they do on the show "What not to wear."

The outfits in this post are based off of the date outfits I created earlier this month on Polyvore. Clothing pieces are not exactly the same as mine as these are just items from my closet. Check out the post entry here or see the pic below..

One of those days...

Yeah, this is one of those days when I didn't feel like dressing up or looking glam; I threw on whatever was within reach in the closet and just went about my day. I was tempted to archive the pictures but as usual decided to post them. After all, this blog is a documentation of my style makeover which I do not mind sharing publicly...:)

I remember the first time my mum showed us her pictures when she was a young lady in the sixties and how hilarious it was to see her in the Fashion trends of that time; the big wigs, mini dresses and skirts, maxis and clogs. This makes me wonder what my own experience will be when the time comes. Are my kids going to giggle and get excited when they see my blog pictures years later or are they just going to wave them aside? I always get this awesome feeling myself whenever I remember that my blog is my authobiography. Whatever I document on here would be preserved in history for my future generation...I think?...:) So long as blogger does not crash or go out of technology.

Right now, my kids just ask a lot of questions; "Mum, why do you keep taking pictures?" "Mum, why do you keep loading your pictures on the computer?" I have explained the blogging thing to them but it seems like they are not too concerned right now.

Well, March is just around the corner and Spring is definitely closer than ever. Now, I'm just looking forward to Spring trends.

Thanks so much for reading and do have a wonderful weekend. **Kisses!**

Spring, Please! Please!! Please!!!

Yes! you sure read that right!! That is the title of this post; "Spring, please, please please!!!" I am about to vent my frustration with this weather on this blog right now....:) When is it going to be spring? those breezy beautiful days with birds chirping in the trees and all the dead grass sprouting and coming back to life...I can't wait for the rebirth. I'm so tired of this snow already. We had a major snow storm Thursday night which dropped about three to five inches on us again and we have practically had snow on the ground for months...

So, I thought about the weather situation and decided to start a rebellion. I went in to my closet and looked for the outfit that screamed "SPRING" most and donning my colorful ensemble stepped out the door....:)

Well, you definitely know how that would go already. I couldn't go very far with my outfit. My precious cobalt blue heels did not like to be dipped in the snow and since it is the only blue pair of shoes I own (I think?..) and one of my favorites, (I love colorful shoes) I retracted my steps...:)

What else can a Christian woman do? but go back in the house and drink a hot cup of cocoa? But I can tell salvation is here. The rebirth has begun. The temperature is in the late twenties today and the snow and ice is starting to melt. Yay!! Spring is on its way...I can tell.

Jacket and dress: Burlington
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Necklace: Fashion Bug
Bracelet: Target (DIY- necklace turned to bracelet)
Teal handbag: Purchased from a Friend (Business Woman) years ago.

I'll save the colorful outfit for another day and I'm certainly looking forward to Easter. Yes, Christ is risen and soon it will be that time of the year to celebrate and remember his great gift to man again. The gift of SALVATION. Thanks so much for reading.
