Grey Monochrome Outfit and the secret to staying happy

appy Monday Friends; I hope you had an awesome weekend and if you are in the United States, happy Presidents's day. Schools are closed today and some employees get today off as a holiday and this means an extra day to get things done or laze around. I'm glad my kids do not have school today and I look forward to enjoying the day with my family. I wore this monochrome outfit to church a few weeks ago; the grey bodysuit tee paired with this ruffle tiered maxi skirt.

The statement skirt is from Chicwish previously blogged about here and the grey color long sleeve body suit tee is from Amazon and has become one of the favorite pieces in my closet. The fabric is very soft and it feels very comfortable against the skin. I like the juxtaposition of the soft knit tee against the ruffle skirt and this is the main styling tip when it comes to monochrome style; just pair items of different textures but in the same shades of color and you are good to go. I completed the look with this cream color pouch bag which is actually a DIY of my Vera Wang hobo bag that I have had for years and previously blogged about here and here. Pouch bags are trending right now and you can find them at different styles and price points on Etsy and this is an affordable way of wearing the trend as opposed to splurging on a designer Bottega Veneta Bag. I just love the way the bag accents the entire look and this leads me to the tidbits of today's blog post.

And what is the key or secret to staying happy you might ask and my answer is; "contentment and gratitude." As we go through life and try to aspire to achieve our goals and dreams, we experience hurdles and challenges on the way sometimes but no matter how difficult the situation or challenge might be, take a moment to show some gratitude, appreciation and content for that situation, dream or goal

So long as you have taken a leap or are on task, you'll be okay. And since we are talking about fashion here, I'll illustrate my point with this example. Let's say there is a pair of designer shoes that you really want to purchase but cannot afford at the moment; take a minute to appreciate the other pairs of shoes that you currently own and the fact that you have two feet. There are tons of people in the world that can afford a couple of those same designer shoes but are not able to do so because they are missing their feet or cannot stand on their feet due to some discomfort or illness. I know this sounds very cliché but hey! we do need this reminder from time to time. Life is too precious and too fragile to waste any minute thinking unhappy thoughts. Be well, be happy and stay happy 😃

  3. What a fabulous outfit! I totally agree that contentment and gratitude are key to happiness. You can't be happy if you're not satisfied and thankful with what you have. Hope you enjoyed a lovely long weekend!
